A: It has a getting started booklet in addition to tge full rule book. The former is intended to get one started playing from basic rules on up is my understanding

**Q: Is this the actual 40k table top game? Or a dumbed down board game version?**
A: This is an Age of Sigmar miniatures game. 40k is a sister game to it.  So no its not 40k, nor a board game.  40k takes place in the future, Sigmar is more fantasy based armies.
