Great value, but a caveat if you plan to use it with a garage door
This is a solid, well built keypad that is easy to program and has more features than I will ever use. I bought it to replace the wireless keypad that came with my garage door which was forever losing it's pairing with the base unit, running out of battery, and generally failing at its one and only job. If you are thinking about doing something similar, be aware that most newer garage doors use "intelligent" wall buttons that communicate with the overhead lifter unit via radio frequency. Since this keypad is a simple momentary on/off switch, it probably will not work with most newer garage doors without some modifications. In order to make this work with newer doors, you will need to modify a wall console/button that is capable of generating the necessary RF code. This is pretty easy if you have a multimeter, and can do basic soldering. You need to locate the Normally Open switch on the circuit board in the wall console that is responsible for triggering the door. You should be able to see the circuit traces on the board that lead to the switch, and find a couple of soldering points on the board that are connected to each side of the switch. Confirm that you have the right points by checking for continuity--you should have very high resistance when the switch is open, and close to zero when it is depressed. Solder a wire to each of these points and reassemble the wall console, routing the new wires out of the console housing. Check your work by reconnecting the wall console and touching the two new wires together. If you've done it right, this will be the same as pressing the switch, and the door will open.Hook your new wires up the appropriate com/N.O. terminals on the keypad and you're done.

We have a detached garage, behind a fence (so, not accessible via the street), and needed basic, exterior secure means of opening our garage door. I was replacing an existing exterior keypad that had become unreliable. We only required a few features - weatherproof, multiple access codes, single relay to open the door. For the price, this unit fit the bill perfectly. It's already been installed, and programmed, and is working as we needed. It's only been up for a week, so time will tell if it proves to be resilient enough to survive as long as the previous unit did (8 years).

Great product
Works great with the gate opener, many features which should satisfy any user. I programmed the unit inside my office and installed the keypad the next day so it didn’t take long.

As advertised so far...
Hired an electrician as that's not my deal, but it was installed in under an hour and took 20 minutes to program. It's used on 2 relay system (gate and door) run parallel. One code opens both. Pretty straight forward.

Small unit meant for wall mounting
This unit is about 3"x5" and meant to be mounted on a wall. It is too small to mount on a standard gate keypad post. Very rugged unit with a lot of features most people will never use. The description here isn't very complete.Warning--The programming instructions published online are quite different from the instructions packed with the unit.

No tech support. Will not call back or answer the phone.
Absolutely no tech support but works good.

RAS-3 Digital access control keypad
The statements about this item are absolutely ridiculous. I had an Apollo tec try to set it up after I failed. It took him 5 hours to get it to work, it then failed after one week. I was a research engineer with Northrop for 15 years, and I can tell you this equipment is worthless, and the installation manual isn't worth the paper it is written on. I'm throwing this piece of crap out. Buy it at your own risk.
