Good idea, could use a little more features
This is a pretty nice product. It is made of plastic and requires a foam "filler pad" in order for it to sit in the hitch properly (other wise there is a 1/2 inch gap and it can raddle around). The only thing I don't like about it is that it only comes on when there is power to the left tail light (turn signal, running lights, or brake light). Basically this means that there are only 2 wires to it, ground and the left signal wire. I would have liked to see it come on for either signal which would mean it would need a total of 3 wires. Other than that, I love the product and would definitely order another one.

Not bad, but needs extension plug.
It is pretty nice, but the length of the plug is not long enough, depending on the vehicle I suppose, I have a Ram truck and the cord does mot reach my hitch plug outlet, but if you go to your local Auto parts store and look in the Trailer hitch and plug isle, you can find an extension of the same kind of plug, it will be male end and female ends and just has enough slack to reach the provided plug on the Hitch light, once plugged in you can snake it in up and over behind the bumper to plug into the factory receptacle, looks pretty good, and it fit's nice and snug into the trailer hitch receiver.

A real review
Product comes as described and performs well. I haven't had it very long, so I don't know how long it'll last. I question it's durability because it feels pretty cheap and is entirely plastic. I also doubt that it's designed to take any damage, because it's a poorly designed product. The cable hangs down from the bottom of the light and makes it really tacky. There's no way for the cable through the back without taking it apart(which i'd rather not do yet) The plate over it that makes the dodge logo is also pretty cheap. You could probably replicate this product yourself with a cheap brake light from walmart($5 to $15), A dodge stencil(or sticker), and black spray paint. Although everything I've said has been negative thus far, I don't regret the purchase, it just didn't make my expectations.Pros; It's brightCons; Made of plastic and the Wire hangs from the bottom of the light.Summary; bad enough not to buy again, but not bad enough to return

Lighted hitch sleeve
Was exactly what my husband wanted for his hitch cover. He loves that it lights up also.

LIGHTED TOW HITCH COVER
Like how this cover gives you added lighting at the rear of my truck. The chevy bow tie logo in the light, gives it a nice look.

Absolutely great AFTER some minor mods
I read the reviews prior to ordering so I had some ideas. First thing was I replaced the included incandescent buld with an LED equivalent that I ordered along with it. So far no signs of the housing melting as others have reported and I don't expect it to as the LED bulb barely even gets warm. Mod numer 2 - the pigtail is too short for my taste as I don't like the look the look of the cable running up to the OEM trailer connector. So I also ordered male and female 4 flat connectors that came with the extra length of wire I needed. I routed the extended cable through the inside of the lamp instead of the side. With the extra female plug I tapped into the factory wiring behind the factory trailer connector. I wired it so the Ram logo stays lit whenever the lights are on which you wouldn't be able to do if it still had the incandescent bulb as the housing would surely melt.Mod 3 - I added clear caulking around all points where moisture could get in. The end result is that now it looks perfect as it should with no wiring visible. Then when I need to tow my trailer I can easily unplug the connector under the bumper and the unused female connector stays hidden underneath. Very happy with it and I expect it to last a long time.
