Great basic snow shovel
I am pretty happy with this product. 60 year old female, I’ve been leary of how to choose the best type and not invest a lot of money as snow and ice are infrequent in our area. I still haven’t quite figured out the level handle but kept it secured with loop and used it to flip shovel and toss snow off. Edge could be sharper as anytime the surface was t quite perfectly flat it got stuck on aggregate concrete patio, cracks in concrete walkway, and uneven asphalt driveway surface. All said and done I believe it will meet me needs fine for our situation. I’m going to search on Youtube to see if there’s more instruction on properly using the secondary handle.

Probably the ugliest shovel I've ever seen, but my driveway isn't the fashion runway
As the title says, it is ungainly-looking. I ordered it for my mother who has health issues but still wants to shovel off the walkway on her own. Since it worked great for her I decided to give it a shot and it does provide a bit better leverage and better hand positioning for certain shoveling actions. A downside is that you can't really pack it as flat as a normal shovel, but if you're in a climate where snow is on the ground up to six months of the year then it doesn't really matter since you're going to be dragging it out soon enough anyway.

Turned me into superman
Wow I needed a snow shovel but I had no idea this thing was going to transform my life. I feel like I was 19 again like I put on a Superman costume and went out there with a snow shovel and conquered my driveway. It's amazing, all the work is done by my arms and there's very little stress on the back because you don't have to bend over to shovel your snow. I'm going to be 65 this year but I shoveled every bit of my 12' x175 lineal foot driveway. The snow was 6 in deep and fairly heavy and now every bit of it is lying on the lawn. You guys have invented a miraculous snow shovel

Great for alot of snow
Sent this to my son who lives near Lake Erie. They were expecting a huge snow storm and he needed a new shovel. Not only did he shovel his 2 cars out(They got about 18”) but he helped some neighbors shovel out theirs as well. He said he was at it for about 2 hours straight and his back never bothered him after he was done. Well worth the purchase.

EXCELLENT shovel, except....
...the metal blade will not stay on. Or, would not stay on... I'm blessed with a hubby whom is a welder, fabricator, machinist and has the skills and equipment to RIVET the blade on. Be prepared, this shovel IS awesome except that the only thing holding the blade on, appears to be a "pressing" if you will. Unless it was supposed to be screwed on or something...? So, after a few shovel fulls, the blade started to pop off. So, to the manufacturer: You really should attach the blade to the shovel permanently, as "pressing" it on, does not hold.

Light, collapsible, compact shovel with useful ergonomic feature
I love it- but it may not be optimal for all users. This item seems to benefit a particular segment of users, mostly relevant to the benefit of an efficient second point of leverage for the two-handed lifting and throwing operation. It is a light shovel as well, so doesn't require excessive strength to operate. Cons: As it is light, it doesn't do so well scraping icey areas. The build quality seems focused on lightness- so can't evaluate long-term durability.

Pleasant surprise
Looks weird, but works excellently. First snow, so can't tell durability, but is super to use, esp pitching over deck rails. Also, for deck stairs, can use small handle to clear steps by pulling shovel towards you and behind step. I'm getting another.

Worth every penny
Holy smokes. I never thought I’d want to write a review about a snow shovel before, but here we are! This this is AMAZING. The second handle makes ALL the difference. I shoveled my entire driveway and some of the street in probably around 30-45 minutes, and I barely broke a sweat. I will say the driveway probably had about 6 inches of snow on it. So we’ll see how it does with deeper amounts. But currently I absolutely love it, and although I didn’t like spending $40 initially, it was so so worth it

Snow-Joe? How about Snow-Job?
The only reason I’m bothering here is because I REALLY dislike dishonesty and/or manipulation in advertising.I bought this shovel, and another Sno-Jo product this winter. Neither came close to matching the advertised claims. You gotta have guts (and/or poor decision making, lack of ethics, greed, etc.) to invent a word like “Shovelutionary” to describe such a generic, underwhelming product. What to say about this shovel?1. This thing contains NO spring or special mechanism of any kind. What you see (or can’t see) in the pictures, is a plastic handle attached to a piece powder-coated sheet metal.2. IN NO WAY was this thing designed to be ergonomically effective for the buyer. There is NOT ONE SINGLE adjustment option to be found anywhere (Ie. Shaft length, handle length, etc.)4. IN FACT, Sno-Jo didn’t even bother to design a way to keep the non-spring “spring” out of the way when you just want a regular snow shovel.5. This thing is ONLY MEANT TO THROW SNOW. You WILL still need to get a proper snow shovel to get your sidewalk cleared. Between the angle of the shovel scoop and the metal edging on the blade, it’s almost impossible to use along the ground. My suggestion...Find a decent, regular snow shovel.Tie a rope half-way down the shaft.Have a pleasant winter!

EDITED - Thumbs Down -save your 26 dollars and buy the HEFT instead
EDITED - Nov 11 - snowing out and I tried (read tried) to use this shovel and it's thin material is really poorly constructed and the wobbly extra handle is counter productive to what is being described. The extra handle flexes far too much to gain any benefit the sales copy writer uses and in fact does not work to your benefit but to your detriment. The poor quality construction when you pick up heavy snow the blade wobbles side to side and I give the longevity around 1 or 2 more snow falls before it breaks. So the price is the only good thing about this product, the design of the flex handle is a cheap design. That said, this reminds me of the heft handle but for that price you get the whooooole shovel!Good quality overall, shovel portion is on par, handle tho above the extra handle seems a wee bit on the light-material side.Again, ya get what cha pay for, I'm looking for a winner here. It's also a much smaller blade for sure than most snow shovels.

Interesting idea - but pretty useless
I shovel snow for a living in Calgary, for the past 8 years, and exclusively smaller residential properties (mostly 2 car driveways, a few triple driveways, and a few just sidewalk/walkway properties). So aside from needing to go fast enough to get 50+ properties cleared in a day, my experience is likely similar to a lot of home owners reading this.I've tried pretty much every shovel type you can find at the big hardware stores plus a few random online ones that looked interesting. I unboxed this one and within a couple minutes realized it was probly gonna go in my collection of brand new shovels I've bought over the years, tried for 10min, realized how useless or annoying they were and haven't touched again.Firstly I dont really like the blade shape with how flat it is compared to any shovel I've ever seen before - It seemed like was probly so it fit easily into a box to be sold online (there's not many other shovels on Amazon that arnt super overpriced stuff you can find at Home Depot though so can't judge them too much for that). It's clearly the width of a scooping type shovel, but the blade barely has as scoop compared to ones you can get in stores.Secondly the Spring action part is super weird and so much less ergonomic or helpful than I'd hoped. I would love to be able to throw snow far sometimes, but this wasn't any improvement over my current go-to which is just a scoop shovel from a hardware store that either came with a secondary handle partway down the shovel or that I bought and attached a $10 Canadian Tire secondary handle to myself usually. The most annoying thing using this "spring assisted" shovel is that you kinda need to be holding the weird spring assist thing the whole time.. if you try to just hold it like a normal shovel ever then that handle will be flopping all over so that doesn't really work and is super annoying.Lastly, I personally hate the metal wear strip on this shovel as well as the other ones ive tried. Idk what kind of perfectly smooth, flawless, newly poured concrete surfaces other people are shoveling.. but I have never found that to end up being anything except catching on everything constantly so you're jarring your joints every few steps because it's metal and doesn't slide well across concrete to begin with, and when there's a layer of snow hiding every little crack in the sidewalk it's hard to do anything smoothly and efficiently without getting frustrated. I know some people probly like metal wear strips, but I would recommend fiberglass or something other than metal if you want something that won't wear down ever and can also scrape everything to the concrete. My main shovels I treat as disposable and go through a couple per season just from wearing them down so much, but I've always thought that's the point, because if the shovel didn't give at all when you hit some hard resistance from a rock or a crack or some ice, then a lot of the time it would've just been youre body that's getting jarred to a stop if that makes any sense. This would be a cool novelty/joke gift for some of my snow removal business owner friends, but if you're looking for something practical you'll get a ton of use out of (and especially if this is gonna be your only shovel) then I'd definitely recommend going something normal from Lowes, Home Depot, Canadian Tire etc. cuz that's probly what you'll end up doing anything after trying to use this one for a while.(Nothing wrong with Snow Joe as a brand and I'm a big fan of some of their other stuff and in general its usually great, practical, really useful stuff that's affordable for homeowners)

Good, with a few drawbacks
I purchased this shovel because of what I figured it would do well - heave snow without killing my back and shoulders. Does it accomplish this? Definitely yes, but the design does have some drawbacks.Pros-lightweight-easy to maneuver-very easy to lift up snow without overexerting yourself-metal edge will protect the plastic from deteriorationCons-too lightweight, cannot get under packed snow-narrow, which helps get into tight spaces and between vehicles easier but will need to do more passes to clear snow-shallow scoop means that you won't be able to lift high volumes of snow per shovel, so again this will add more time and effort-metal edge gets caught easy in every crack on the sidewalk-not as sturdy as I would like it to be, only slightly wobbly but that's not a surprise for a shovel you assemble rather than one that comes as one complete pieceOverall I think this shovel is great and I am happy I bought it. In my experience, I have never found the one shovel that will do everything. I have another shovel which is heavy and fully metal for pushing lots of snow and getting under the packed parts. This Snow Joe is great for lifting that pile up the snow mountain and for getting the steps done and the sidewalk. A good partner for my other shovel. It is a good only shovel if you have a small area you are trying to keep clear.

The registered warranty is legit, and fantastic. The product could not be any more useful
This back saving shovel is perfectly designed and built. It is strong, will last for many years, and has a registered 2 year warranty(with an extra 3 months upon registration online), with each shovel having its own serial number. A heavy, reinforced edge will protect the shovel, and allow for hard scraping. 10/10
