Valve body is 4.25 ", Valve on / off stem is at 2.25 " from end and Valve handle, extends from center of body to 7 inches long. In open position that leaves a handle extension beyond valve body of 2.5" (Valve is 4.25 inches long and handle extends beyond valve body by 2.5 inches in open position.)

They are for Water, Oil and Gas so yes, they can be used for Diesel.

Well yes....., But the chlorine will react with the brass over time if the ppm is high. The simplest avenue is to use a pvc valve rated for pools. With variables as ppm, Ph, and water dissolved contents a simple answer is not at hand. What was the valve you are changing out made of and why are you changing it?
