cheaper than bose
I read endless reviews and tried some small speakers out at stores. At first I wanted the $200 Bose mini speaker but that was not going to happen. This speaker is a surprisingly good compromise and kind of cute too. We are not experts at sound so for us the sound quality is excellent. There is definitely some bass to be heard and can be adjusted. The upper volume limit is much too loud for us but for a house party it may not be ideal. There is a small remote that comes with it, we prefer using that to adjust volume, seems to respond better than patting the ears. Comes with several small adapters for different sized ipods. We use various mp3 players with this speaker by using the auxiliary cord. mp3 players or laptops have to have their own volume close to max for speaker to work. When using other mp3 players the remote only adjusts volume, treble & bass. The rest of the buttons do not work unless it is the device specified for this speaker, so to skip songs you need to use the buttons on the mp3 player, does not bother us. We hope it works for a long time!

oink! oink! oink!
When I first saw this gadget I thought it looked ridiculous and wasn't going to order it until I read the reviews. I ordered it for the baby's room (he's due 9/2011) so we could play various soothing music on a playlist for him at night and I expected to use it while I finished painting his nursery. I didn't expect such an awesome sound!!!! I love this thing. I plan to buy another for my fiance for Christmas for his desk. Even he is impressed with the over all sound and the base. We even jammed out to oldies like Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise to try it out and honestly it's terrific. The first ipig I received had been harvested for parts by someone else (Grrrrrr - among other things, even the battery was missing from the remote) so I ordered another which showed up yesterday. I also went from thinking it would look ridiculous to thinking the pig design is actually really neat. It would look good in an office and will be perfect in the nursery. I rated this at four stars because I'm not crazy about the remote control; scrolling through the music using the remote is a time consuming nuisance while standing there in front of your ipod waiting to get to the music you want to hear. You can set it up and hit play then plug it into the ipig and it works fine so that's a nice workaround when I don't feel like messing around with the remote. As an added random bonus, "Amazon Prime" shipping ROCKS.

Worked great... until it broke.
I loved this simple speaker / docking station for my ipods when I first got it. It is easy to use, just plug in my ipod and control the music from the ipod, control the volume from the pig. It keeps the device charged. It has simple plastic "holds" that can be changed to fit each device, which is great because I had to upgrade to a larger ipod. I have had this device for about two years. However for the past six months the connection has started to fail - I have to wiggle my ipod to get it to play, and even then it will randomly start and stop due to the connection breaking. Very annoying. The connection has gotten worse and worse until at this point it is unusable - almost no connection at all, just snippets of music for a second at a time. You may think two years is long enough, but I probably use this device for 1-2 hours at a time maximum 4-5 times per month. This is NOT very many play hours. It looks like they have a quality control problem, so common in this day and age.

has looks and function - perfect
I needed to replace a small ipod dock in my daughter's room so my husband could have his travel unit back. When I found this, with its compact design and great reviews, I went for it. It is a great little speaker, and my 2 1/2 year old loves it. It is sturdy, compact and easy to use. It is round, so has a very stable base for a child. She can easily adjust the volume, which she loves. And we have used an ipod touch and an iphone successfully. FYI - according to the instructions the iphone is not an accepted accessory. It does create interference, but you can eliminate this by using the airplane mode. There is no official insert for it either, but it fits (imperfectly) into one of the included dock inserts. As other reviews have mentioned, great sound, only real drawback is the lack of batteries.

super portable pig
I was looking for something to carry in a backpack to use at work. Work in a factory and there is not place to store at work without being stolen or broken by others so I needed something to take with me daily. It is a little heavier than I would have liked but when I put in my work area I know it will not tip over. The sound is very good,I can hear it over all the other noises from machines running, hand tools, and other factory noises. I don't have to be right in front of it to hear it I can walk away as far as 10-15ft and still hear it. Grant it it is not big stereo sound but you can hear it and enjoy your songs. Rock is the best to hear, easy listening music you don't hear as far away. The cable that came with it to plug is other MP3 players was a lose fit so I went and bought another and that fits much better. My only concern is I hope the ears don't break off so I lose the ability to control the volume. I have received many compliments from co-works on its neat look and it good sound volume for it compact size. I tried it at home (3bed ranch) and the sound was booming through the house, even outside on an acre lot you can hear it very well.

Nice little piggy
This was a pleasant surprise. We wanted to replace a bulky CD player in my daughter's room. We have a couple of old iPods floating around the house and thought it would make sense to have something fun in her room. The speakers turned out to be pretty good for their price. It is no Bose or B&W, but it does not cost as much either. The subwoofer was nice and the speakers produce clear sound. The form factor is very cute, small footprint and keeps it entertaining for the kids .. I think they may have even named it.
