The Salamander Room (Dragonfly Books)

This is my go to baby shower gift. It’s not a baby book (targeted to maybe 4-8 year olds?) I give it anyway because it’s one of my favorite books ever. Most people are unfamiliar with the title, but it’s always a hit.

Such a cute and magical story. I loved this book as a child, and I still love it as an adult. It's a wholesome, beautiful book about how outside animals need to live outside to be happy. The artwork is gorgeous.

This was my favorite childhood book!!! Just to note tho… I did try to bring everything inside after reading it lol

My kids loved it, and now my grandkids love it!

I really enjoyed this book. I used it in my second grade classroom for a book study. The students also enjoyed the book and I was able to use it to teach multiple skills..

This wonderful book was a family favorite when my son was little. It's a delight for the imagination, and has stayed with parents and child through the years.

My children and I really enjoyed this book. Apart from the very nice story and beautiful illustrations, it got them thinking about why houses are built the way they are, taking care of different species as pets, the food chain, etc. We had varied topics to discuss and some days later the story came up while discussing something else. As a Teaching student who's very interested in children's books, I'd recommend that you read it aloud first asking from time to time "What do you think will happen next?" and only then show the kid/s the pictures.

My son’s favourite book as a little boy who loved lizards etc. a wonderful dream of becoming part of nature

My sons and I love this story. The little boy slowly turns his room into an outdoor sanctuary for his little salamander to live with him in. Beautiful illustrations and a story that inspires love and respect for even the smallest creatures.

This book is about Nature. The environment suitable for a Salamander is being created in the house. I enjoyed it very much.

Full of imagination! Good for a range of ages and for boys or girls. I would rate this book highly.
