Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light

if you are a true 80's cartoon enthusiast then this is a must. Its so rare and not even available on dvd in us. hint the dvd players by memorex at target can be hacked 9999 on the menu then select all languages to get unlocked dvd player that can play this disc and any disc for that matter. great job, great seller, a bit of a wait because it was so far but hey VISIONARIES is worth it. Not to mention all the illuminati hints in this cartoon...merlin looks exactly like Albert Pike...the whole scenario takes place after doomsday caused by solar flares...they are KNIGHTS of the MAGICAL LIGHT...and what VISIONARIES do you know of that pride themselves on these things? any ways great cartoon lol

Visionaries was the single most mind challenging television series i can recall while growing up. In an age where magic overcomes technology a group of fierce warriors most battle for the control of the land, the noble "knights of the magical light" also know as the Visionaries in one side, and the evil Darkling knights at the other. In an attempt to bring balance to the struggle, and peace over the land, a powerful wizard call Merklin invested a serial of magical powers upon the champions of both sides.Each warrior received a token animal according to their personalities and abilities, in which they could metaform and gain the beast abilities. Also a group of them received magical wands which they could use to call upon greater powers for protection, wisdom, speed, knowledge, attack, and so on. Another members of each party receive the ability to invest magical energies upon machines to reactive them (as they were no use anymore) and use them for the battle.The series had great plot, good animation (for the time being) and a solid story line. However it only lasted for one season (unexplainable!!). I've being waiting to get this DVD and also for a remake of this fantastic animation series.

Just found some of the Visionaries action figures on an online auction site, it reminded me of how absolutely fantastic this cartoon really was/is! I bought the DVD years ago, when it was released. I had hoped for a Blu-Ray release before now. Come on Hasbro/Sunbow Productions please give this the HD treatment, or better still, start showin the series again on TV and follow it on past episode 13. It so desperately needs continuation in that same 80s style animation. Don't change a thing! it is a flawless cartoon, please don't try to modernise it like the rebooted Transformers cartoons have been. They really are pale in comparison to their 80s originals (why do modern cartoons insist on drawing all characters out of proportion - big heads with little bodies or big top half arms and shoulders and disproportionately small legs and bottom half? - its so bad).Anyone who has any thoughts on buying this, don't hesitate, it's awesome. I cant wait until my son is old enough to watch them with me (along with the original G1 transformers cartoons from 1984-1987)

So the animation isn't amazing. The story's a bit predictable. It's not the sharpest, most polished of images. But I loved Visionaries as a kid and it's exactly what I hoped for - I found my ancient VHS of the first 2 episodes in a box in the loft and really wanted to watch it for the memories it brought back, but no longer have a VHS player, so I ordered this and am so glad I did.

I have 2 of these episodes on a bought VHS - The Lion Hunt and Feryl steps out. Had the pilot somewhere on betamax but i didnt bother converting it to VHS all those years ago when i had the last chacne to. It is an amazing show and i cant believe how lucky i am to own it.had all the toys, even that massive darkling lord transport vehicle thing. Watching this over reminds me how great the 80's really were.This truely is one of the best things you can buy on here. Its not often a company will give you EVERY episode of an entire programme on one DVD.....so you have to buy this.
