AddiSwing Crochet Hooks 3.50mm

I bought this as I have arthritis in my thumbs, and it is very comfortable to hold and use. Only criticism is the length of the metal part of the hook. Not long enough for using with chunky yarn, so could Dow itch being a little bit longer. Other than that nice to hold.

The shaft seems a bit short, not good if you are using thick wool. Maybe they make a longer metal shaft one

I have some Addi Swinghooks I bought around 10 years ago, and they were beautiful. The old ones are smooth, they have a short hook but still long enough to glide through as many loops as you like, and they are comfy to hold. This one is nothing like them. It's like someone said "what's good about Addi Swing hooks and how can we best get rid of it?". The handle is cheap and rough to hold with bits poking out. The hook (suddenly much shorter than the older ones) isn't long enough to hold more than one loop, not good if you're doing even a double crochet stitich. And the hook has moulding ridges all over it meaning it catches on your yarn. I spent a little extra knowing Addi hooks were the very best, but they seem to have redesigned them to cut costs and the new design is absolute trash. DO NOT BOTHER.

I bought one of these many months ago as I found metal hooks difficult to hold and would lead to cramps in my hands. Fell in love with them (once I got used to the different feel) and am now slowly replacing my entire collection with these. Yes, they are expensive but definitely worth it as they make crocheting so much easier. I also like the extended length and ergonomic feel as well as the different colours so you can spot the right size hook easily. Can't wait to buy another size when the need arises and will not go back to normal hooks now.

I'm a newbie crocheter and I love these hooks. They are really comfortable to hold and nice and chunky. I suspect someone who has crocheted for a long time may not like them as you do seem to hold the hook in a slightly different way to the normal thin aluminium ones everyone seems to have. However, for me I can crochet for hours comfortably.I also like the fact that each size is a different colour so it's easy to grab the right hook out of your stash of wool.They aren't cheap. What you pay for one would enable you to buy a full set of cheap ones. However, I think they are worth it. They are very good quality and make me happy when I use them.With amazon prime cheap and quick delivery I basically buy a new aldi hook for each new project that requires a new size. Hopefully eventually I'll have the full set.
