Are these snowflakes cool white or warm white bulbs?

I would say they are more warm white, but not yellowish or sepia. They have a clean white glow that is not harsh or bluish like LEDs. Hope this helps!

Is there a switch to turn it on and off or do you have to plug it in everytime?

There is no on-off switch that I am aware of. I just leave it plugged in all season long. You could get a timer and plug it into a timer.

I purchaged these last year and loved them. Carefully packed them away. This season, 2 didn't work, 2 more have died. Any one else have problem?

This is year two for me and they are as bright and all lights working as last year. I packed them away in the original box.
