PortaPow jest przydatny wszędzie tam, gdzie chcemy skorzystać z zasilania portu USB, ale nie chcemy wymiany danych miedzy naszym urządzeniem a nieznaną ładowarką lub obcym komputerem. Zarówno przygodne ładowarki, jak i komputery mogą być niebezpieczne ze względu na możliwość próby ataku podłączonego telefonu złośliwym oprogramowaniem.
