Fantastic Read, Good write
I used a benchmarking program to measure this flash drives speed. I was not dissapointed. Not with its *read speed anyway. It averaged 25mb/s which is excellent, and at one point it hit 31mb/s! *Write speed is good, it averaged between 15-16mb/s. It did occasionally dip to about 13mb/s but also recorded a maximum speed of 19.2mb/s.For a more 'real world usage' test i also copied 1.8GB worth of NEF image files to the drive and recorded it. It completed it in 1 minute, 59.2 seconds. Averaging, according to Windows Vista, 16.2MB/S.Given that Transcend themselves say: "read speed of 32 Mbps and write speed of up to 18 Mbps", this is very good. One thing I am noticing about Transcend, which other manufacturers would do well to emulate, is that they don't provide massively bloated estimates that their products never actually get close to. In my experience, you can trust their speed estimates. For a usb 2.0 card, it's a high performer and a solid purchase....That being said though, for a future proof investment i would definitely recommend the similarly priced Transcend 16GB JetFlash 700 Super Speed USB 3.0 Flash Drive i haven't acutally bought or even used this model, but in general, USB 3.0 is soon to take over. Even if you have a USB 2.0 port, USB 3.0 products still yield slight speed increases. As they're also so similarly priced to USB 2.0 products right now, it's the wise choice.)*Read Speed - how quickly it can play back, or open a file*Write Speed - how quickly it can save or transfer a file (onto itself)

Good pen drive with a minor flaw!
I purchased my pen and am more than happy with the speed and size of it however it has a minor flaw and thats in the design of the pen drive to allow to attach it to a neck lanyard or a keyring, i did try to attach my neck lanyard though the tiny hole they designed at the base of it, after 20 mins trying with no success to get the cable though the pen drive i gave up HOWEVER i did find a 'fix' for it so top tip if you have a friend that goes fishing or know someone that does go fishing, ask em for a "fishing swivel" they will know what your talking about!!!! SO i put a bend in it(swivel) and threaded it though the pen drive and straightened the swivel out and thats the best way i found to find it to attach to my pen drive so overallPRO's:Good pen drive, good speed, good small drive and well worth the moneyCONS:DESIGN of attachment for a lanyard or keyring.

As described: Read=31.53 MB/S Write=16.86 MB/S
I selected this based on price, brand, capacity and performance. I can't stand storage with slow writes as this is when I want this device to perform as fast as possible. This reads sequentially in Crystal Disk Mark at 31.53 MB/S and the sequential write speed is 16.86 MB/S using the 50MB size test. The 50MB test is the best one as this will show the worst case scenario speed usually with smaller file transfers and is a good indicator of real world speeds. I'm happy that this was advertised accurately in terms of speeds unlike a lot of other products. Good value for money. The only negative is the build quality. The USB connector and PCB move around inside the plastic housing as there is a little bit of play in there. It feels flimsy and like it might break if used day in day out.

fast, lightweight and large capacity
I bought this as an upgrade from the 8gb transcend memory stick I just bought from their 300 series. This is a much speedier stick and is far more suitable for my needs. I transferred 2.12 gigs of data (3 x 700 video files) and the task took 2m15s. That's just under 16mb/sec so very decent. Read speed of the same files was just over a minute so was about 27-28mb/sec -as good as I've experienced over usb2 and close the manufacturer's claimed speeds. The stick has a blue led to let you know when it functioning and a little cap.Build quality is light - it won't take tremendous abuse but since it wasn't marketed as a super tough stick I won't mark it down. It's a great value stick for the speed / capacity on offer.

Very fast...ideal for large data files
I purchased this flash drive specifically with transfer speeds in mind. I wanted it for transferring compressed home video files from my PC to my TV so I could watch them on the big screen and it works significantly better than other flash drives in that regard. It is able to play a larger number of files and the lip sync on playback is more accurate. I speed tested this stick running on an Ubuntu PC against half a dozen other sticks I had lying around and it was by far the fastest. On writing data, it gave me burst speeds of 24Mb/s and maintained a constant speed on large files of 21Mb/s. Very very good! The nearest alternative was my Corsair flash voyager (which I also bought because it was fast) which gave a burst of 12Mb/s and constant of 10Mb/s. The other five sticks were all disappointing with burst speeds of 12Mb/s or less and constant speeds of less than 7Mb/s. So this Transcend Jet Flash stick really performs and data transfer speeds are not dissimilar to writing large data files to an internal hard drive. With the larger storage capacities of 32Gb or 64Gb you need fast transfer speeds otherwise you will be waiting all day to fill that disk space up!

Ottima

Macht was er soll.......

Works great
I've had this for a little over a month and it's working great. It's small enough that I can use the adjoining USB ports on my laptop, which is nice. It seems faster than other USB drives that I've used in the past, but I haven't done any benchmarks personally to support that. The cap does not attach to the drive so you need to be careful where you put it but it's not a problem for me. The body feels plasticky but, well, it's plastic. I don't plan on jumping up and down on it so it should be fine.Overall, I am happy with my purchase and have already recommended this to a few friends. It's a lot of flash memory for a very reasonable price.
