Q: How tall will the Amaryllis stems grow??

Most will grow 12" to 14"....let them completely bloom...mine can last 3 month in bloom..then allow the stem to give nutrients to the bulb for next bloom season. When the stem loses color and softens..cut the stem back all the way level with the bulb. Good luck.

Q: After this blooms indoors can the wax be removed and it planted in outside or in a pot?

The coating is NOT wax but some kind of plastic. I was ale to remove it carefully (with plyers and put the poor thing in soil. It had aleady started to rot. One month later, it is 16 inches tall and has three blooms. Amaryllis will divide the bulbs while it is dormant, and eventually you will have a bowl ful of bulbs and blooms.

Q: i live in minnesota. Can I send these bulbs in freezing temps?

Q: I agree that directions are not clear. Are you supposed to put the wax amaryllis bulb in special dirt? I am a gardener too. Thanks

Don’t plant in dirt. The red wax is keeps the bulb moist and the red color is decorative. Just place the bulb in a sunny area. It’s fun to watch it grow.
