LOUD AF
This thing is crazy loud.. I gave it all 5 stars but I do have a few complaints It NEVER turns off.. the volume knob clicks off.. but the megaphone still works. maybe mine is defective. IDK. I just take out the batteries when it's not in use Also the siren is really easy to hit on accident. The battery "door" backend. whatever its called, came off. the pin must have come out of the hinge. I used a heavy duty paperclip to put it back together. It doesn't really deserve 5 stars. I'm just glad that I got it and its loud.

Basically great volume and durability
Excellent, although only two things I would change would be: 1. the location of the siren button is too close to the carrying handle and makes it very, very easy to accidentally turn on the siren when either reaching for it or just carrying it around. 2. The activation button on the microphone does not go up and down distinctly and often gets stuck in the down (on) position with it being very difficult to jiggle a bit to make it pop back up. Can then deplete batteries very quickly. Loudness is great however and is pretty durable relative to many other megaphones on the market, which are the biggest things I was looking for.

Loud Longevity
I volunteer at an airsoft field in Dayton, Maine. We bought our first ThunderPower 1200 via Amazon in August of 2013 to add sound effects to our conflict-simulation events. The players loved it so much that we bought a second one in April of 2014. To this day, both megaphones are as loud as ever when we use them during our major operations. I would like to thank ThunderPower for producing such a high-quality product! The following video was recorded earlier this year and has a brief clip of our ThunderPowers blaring on the field: https://youtu.be/8p_puCSZdNk

Good while it lasts ...
This thing certainly does blast out the sound, about as much as my much heavier Half Mile Hailer did. I didn't like the fact that it was so easy to accidentally trigger the siren but a bolt taped over the top of that switched solved the problem. And the microphone was decently clear. However, the fact that it stopped working 2 months after I got it is a huge problem. We only used it about 8 times and I don't recall being rough with it. Sure, I got caught in the rain a few times but we usually got a plastic bag over the top of the device before it got too wet. Why would it break so quickly?

High Quality Product
Wear Ear Plugs... WOW!! This Is Loud!! (12 Volt car plug adapter uses 3 amp fuses, comes with only 1-auto parts has them) If There Is Another Megaphone That Is Louder I Do Not Understand Why You Would Need It. This Wakes Up The Neighborhood, Scares People, It Definitely Gets Attention!! I Use It To Get Neighbors To Turn There Stereos Down - Put There Fires Out, I Can Also Plug My Guitar & Play... It Also Comes With Mini Jack Adapter Plug For Smaller Line Jack Sources. I Use My Android To Play Music With It. I Plug My Weather Band Radio Into It, I Did Not Let The Negative Feedback Steer Me Away, There Are Way More Positive. I Am Happy I Have This THUNDERPOWER 1200 I Plan On Using It To Deter Black Bear In The Forest If They Get To Close. I Will Be Showing It Off Plugged Into My 12 Volt Plug On My Grizzly ATV During The 4th of July Parade. HAVE FUN!!!

Can you hear me now?!
I'm not sure if my expectations were higher or if this is just what a "LOUD" megaphone is. It is loud when using the siren but when using the microphone it seems it could be louder. Could be that any louder in this form factor may cause distortion but overall it is a solid performer for the price.

Pretty damned mediocre.
I guess that it's loud, but there's no effective volume control. It's a failure in many other ways, too. There are two separate volume controls. If you are speaking directly into the megaphone, there is a blue volume control knob that you can use to turn the sound up or down or to turn the megaphone off. However, if you use the handheld mic, it has its own volume, independent of the blue volume control, and it can't be turned up, down, or off; if you bump the mic button, the megaphone is on whether you've turned it off or not. You literally cannot turn the megaphone off. You can turn off the blue button and hope that nothing taps the handheld mic. The siren button is next to the volume button and it's extremely delicate. It's almost impossible *not* to be activating the siren continually if you're moving around at all. The aux input requires that you hold the aux cable into position, hard, continually. You cannot move if you want to use the aux input. This means that you effectively cannot, for instance, play music through the megaphone. My first time out with it, the hinges broke. The back of the megaphone is a door that you open to put the batteries in. (This is a ten-minute task, because the slots for the batteries are way too lose, so they're constantly falling sideways and in each other's way. You can't just drop them in. You drop one in, go after it with a knife to pry it into place, drop another one in, which falls out of place, and when you pry it into place, the first one has slipped back out of place, and so forth. You have to do this for each of eight batteries, and for some of them, more than once.) The door just fell directly off; the hinges that were to hold it on lost their pin when I first tried to carry it somewhere. It's possible that I just got the one with a failed aux input and a failed battery door. But the mic volume issue, the siren issue, and the badly-arranged battery compartment issue are inherent to the design. If you want a badly-designed siren, you can get one for less than $200; if you want something other than a siren, you should get something different from this.

See pictures- lots of dents, ring is dented, this is not like new condition.

I have just received this megaphone and I am very disappointed. For such a price I expect to be granted a brand new item, not a megaphone that is clearly used (with both the interior and exterior packaging showing clear signs of wear). I would like to return this item.
