The best piece of equipment I bought to help with mobility. FIVE stars!!
I bought this miraculous device to help me move my tall and substantial 96 year old father from Bed to wheelchair and wheelchair to recliner. I was easily able to balance the device with a little weight on one toe while turning him with very little effort. The device is substantial and my dad felt confident standing on it. I wish I had found this item years earlier - it would have saved my back a lot of wear and tear! I highly recommend this ‘lazy Susan’ as we called it, to anyone caring for a person of limited mobility. They do need to be able to pull themselves to standing and hold on to the top handle for the duration of turning - only a few seconds. I can’t recommend this aid highly enough!

Lifesaver for caregivers!
I am not one to write reviews but wanted to share: It may be a little pricey but it is worth every penny for it surely helps to take care of someone with mobility issues. As long as the person can pull up and lean forward a little bit as you stand opposite them, you can easily swivel them and safely transfer them to bed, chair or toilet. The disc which you step on is grooved and makes it easy to tell the person where to place their feet. The knee pads are soft and they are adjustable so you can make it the right position for the person's knees as the pads help them to lean forward comfortably. Other sit-to-stand devices I looked at were too big and cumbersome so I was blessed to have seen this pop up when on Amazon. If it wasn't for this device, my family probably would have had to place me in a personal care home. So, although it is almost $400, it is priceless to me and my caregivers.

Thank God for this!
I suffered a spinal cord injury while having surgery. I spent 7+ weeks between hospital and rehab. When I went in for surgery I was able to walk, albeit using a walker. When surgery was over I could no longer walk or even stand up. Basically right now, my day is moving between bed, wheelchair and commode. Moving between these three is impossible for me. They tried various ways of transferring from location to location and they were all too difficult or too complicated. When they brought this Swivel Stander in to me I felt hopeful that this could be the answer and it was. This swivel stander takes a bit of time and strength to lift you into a standing position. Without this device I would not have been able to come home because I would need too much care. I would have to stay at a long term nursing facility. When I tried the swivel stander, I was a bit intimidated but after a few tries I was able to get myself up (with assistance). I phoned my husband and asked him to order this on Amazon. The price for this item is well worth it. It has helped me come home to my family. I can’t say enough good things about this device.

Back-saver
Overall good and sturdy. Saved on our backs and made transfers generally safer. Would have taken 2 people otherwise. Works as it should. Few problems- the knee stabilizer flips, which was unnerving for my mom, and the handle height adjuster gave way a few times. It is adjustable for high or lower with a tightener knob to keep it there, but even through wrenched on by a strong guy, it still gave way a few times. There is a retractable button also (like what you find on commodes or walkers to adjust the height) but it only engages when in the highest position. There are no other holes for adjustment. If I needed to use this item longer, we were going to drill our own holes, but it is no longer needed. Seems that an item this expensive should not need to be jimmy-rigged.

Real life review with my 90 yr old Father-in-law
The media could not be loaded. We ordered our 1st Etac turner thru Amazon and it got “lost in the mail”; but Amazon promptly refunded our credit card! We quickly reordered another one and it arrived in about 4 days! We live in a very rural/ remote part of Missouri. I opened and assembled it in 10 minutes max (I am 66). My wife and I tested it and it worked perfectly, so we took it into our lower level (basement) where her parents live. Her dad is 90, is 5’ 8”, weighs 190lbs and has been wheelchair bound for 6 years (1998). Her mother is 4’ 10” (very short) and weighs 110lbs. I wish I had a before video because it would show him profusely and dangerously shaking and taking 3 minutes to transfer from his lift chair to his wheelchair. This turner is a god-send. We tried to convince them to get one of these almost 3 years ago, but they refused (ughhh). Now they wish they had gotten this before. Please watch the video. These are no actors/models. If you are on the fence about paying this price, I will say it’s very high quality and we expect to get much use from it! We highly recommend this turner!

Shipped a defective, returned item
This product works very well (if you buy it at full price from mobility/assistive devices retailer).Amazon shipped a previously returned, defective device - twice. The original box was put into an Amazon shipping container to resell despite the return and reasons for it. We could not assemble either device. Purchased a third item from The Wright Stuff and assembled it in no time at all.

Lighter weight wife, heavier disabled husband NO BACK STRAIN! No Effort!
First, this unit is literally saving my back! I was skeptical when I saw in the video caregiver putting foot on front to stabilize. I wondered how much I would have to hold it while my husband was pulling from the opposite direction. He is much heavier. Believe me, I put on foot on the pad and it is no effort at all. Again, no effort at all! The handle gives him something to hold onto and pull. No more grabbing the arms of the chair or me pulling him up from behind. Then it is a simple matter of turning the platform. You do this by rotating the handle. (watch a video). Then he can move his hands down the frame for support and settle into his chair, lift recliner or bed. So, helps with standing and rotating. If you are reading this, you must be caring for someone with mobility issues or you have mobility issues and someone is caring for you. It is worth the money. Very well made and not much to put together.
