I'm going to keep it because I really like the color
I ordered an ESEE 4 four days ago. After examining it, I ordered this Izula. The Izula is more appropriate for EDC.Both knives were adequately sharp for a 40˚ edge (20˚ per side), but not razor sharp. I could reprofile them to 30˚ and get them razor sharp, but then the thinner edge would be prone to nicks and chips under hard use. I have other thin bladed knives for that. These are for hard work.I only have one complaint, and it's my fault. I wanted an Izula II. When I picked out the Coyote Brown handle, I didn't realize it was an Izula with a handle, and that it was 1/2" shorter than an Izula II. I'm going to keep it because I really like the color, and my hand still fits when I use the choil.I may decide to get it sharper later, but I'll wait and see how hard I use it. Also; a 40˚ edge needs sharpening much less often than a 30˚ edge. I already know the ESEE 4 will get hard use, so it will stay at 40˚.

Raaazor sharp out of box. Great quality! Will buy again.
Knife shaving my arm bald right out of box. Also worth mentioning it comes with a couple cool stickers.Note: Original case can be used for horizontal carry, it will only allow 3 screws to be lined up, but it’s sufficient from what I can tell and have read from others. Also, when you do this, you can screw in the 4th and leftover screw and nut into the lanyard hole, it creates a bit of extra grip if you have the screw side beneath your pinky, and in my NOVICE opinion, with a choked up grip, it makes it feel much nicer by adding a bit of stubiness, but mainly it’s a free thing. Odd I know. Pictured in my photo though.

Great knife for EDC
With it's small size, this knife is ideal for carrying everyday. The 1095 steel is prone to rusting if not well cared for, but a light coat of oil from time to time will keep the rust away. The sheath offers a variety of ways to carry, the simplest being the supplied belt clip. Personally, I prefer to use a length of Paracord and a cord lock to carry it horizontally on my belt. You can also use the large hole at the end of the sheath to carry it as a neck knife. The micarta "bikini" scales are a great addition to an already great knife. They add just enough thickness to the handle to make it comfortable to hold, without adding too much bulk to the knife. I especially like that they don't cover the hole at the end of the handle at all, allowing you to use it as a finger ring to help hold onto the knife securely, or to attach a lanyard if you desire.

I chose this knife because of the length In California ...
I chose this knife because of the lengthIn California any knife over 4 in. must be displayed on the outsideAnything under can be concealed.I do not see the point in carrying a 14 inch long knife in the Bay Area so I am especially attracted to and fond of small but solid full tang knives and this ESEE fits the bill perfectly

Great little knife
Great everyday carry. I prefer carrying a small fixed blade and this is perfect. It’s got a really nice coating on the blade and is shaving sharp. Multiple carry options with the sheath belt clip combo. The only thing I did was shave down the two bumps that lock the blade in the sheath about a 1/16th of an inch. It was hard to pull out until I did that. Now it draws very smooth will little pull but still stays in even when I shake it upside down. I did this because I carry it in my front pocket with just the clip and handle exposed and not on my belt. So I’d end up pulling the sheath out with it. I love to pocket carry because it’s a perfect location for quick access and I’m still able to use the other half of my pocket. Also it’s comfortable while sitting unlike in the waistband carry. If you have larger hands or use the butt of the handle to strike with I would suggest the Izula 2. It’s handle is a half inch longer. I think my next blade is gonna be an Esee 3.

Sheath is nasty tight to start, great knife though!
4 stars for the super tight and bulky sheath. The knife is great, itself, but I've spent a couple hours now working it in and out of the sheath trying to smooth it's release, so I don't tear my belt or pants trying to gt it out. It's still pretty much a two hand task, but it's getting there.I release and insert it a bunch for several minutes, then scrape off the plastic that has built up on the blade where the sheath holds it in, then repeat.

Perfect
This is my third ESEE knife, and it won’t be my last. This particular one is for carrying every day, and it gets used every day.I prefer the Izula 1 over the 2 because it doesn’t jut out as much under my shirt (I use the ESEE sheath with two soft loops for horizontal carry). The blade is a good thickness and flex for heavy duty cutting. It’s a little too thick for slicing. It takes an edge easily, and keeps it through heavy use. Then there’s the warranty. It’s the best warranty ever.

Great EDC fixed blade
Very impressive EDC fixed blade. Comes razor sharp with a nice polish on the edge. Easy to carry vertically, tip up or tip down. The sheath is very snug around the bolster and heel of the knife but I'm sure it will loosen over time. The G-10 is high quality with a nice texture on the gripping surface and has excellent torx mounting screws. I especially like that the G-10 is removable for a slimmer profile if I want. My only gripe is the belt hook. It isn't secure on my belt. I upgraded to my full size bladetech tek-lok. Great EDC fixed blade.
