The Persian Lime is a heavy bearer of juicy, lemon sized fruit in winter to early spring. This lime variety needs little heat to ripen, making it an excellent choice for backyard plantings or in containers. The limes turn to a pale yellow at full maturity, and have thin, smooth rind. Works great as a patio plant. During cold weather (lows under 29 degrees Fahrenheit), it needs to be brought indoors. It will produce abundantly indoors or out as long as it is kept above freezing temperatures. When indoors be sure to keep it at a southern facing window and pick fresh fruit throughout the winter. The Persian lime is also known as the Tahiti lime or Bearss lime, is a citrus fruit grown commercially in the U.S. and sold simply as a "lime". About Fruit Production: Due to the blossoming cycles of Citrus & Fruit Trees we cannot guarantee that any of our trees will arrive with developed fruit on them. Since our trees are grown from grafts of mature trees, they do produce fruit years sooner than a seeded tree would. Usually our trees will begin to blossom and produce fruit around two to three years old. Older trees are more willing to produce fruit. Climate and location of the tree have a direct effect on fruit production. Any of our trees should thrive and produce fruit for many years with proper care.

Gorgeous emerald limes!
My original tree was ordered in December 2015 and shipped to PA. While the tree survived the shipment, I believe the shock of the cold weather and the size (a little on the thin side) laid out the odds against me. After I reached out to the nursery with my predicament, they kindly send me a healthy replacement with no fuss. I left my tree outdoor from Spring until now. Not only is the tree beautiful to watch, it is thriving. My limes are not key lime size, but giants emerald green Persians. I used a German liquid citrus fertilizer and added a small capful every other month during growing season and just stopped prior to bringing the tree in. The foliage is lush and green. The branches are heavy with limes, so I decided to stake them. Don't know if that is required, but hey, just trying to help my plant out. I will not hesitate to buy from this company again, and this time only in the right season for PA.

Better than I expected
PROS:The tree arrived in very good condition, in spite of it obviously being handled with disregard to This Side UP on the box by Fedex. Planted it the next day, as instructed (included) a couple of weeks ago and am already starting to see new growth. My prior 'dwarf' lime, which my "black thumb" wife managed to kill in its' fourth year (while I was out of country and told her that it probably did not need watered more than twice) had very sharp thorns. This was a positive relative to keeping the cats away from it, but made it a nasty chore to move and was not conducive to our young grandkids. We are in North Central West Virginia, but I grew a Bearrs lime tree, when living in Los Angeles, that not only was prolific in production, but I do not recall there being any thorns - but it was an outdoor variety and was over 15' tall when we finally had a chance to move back east (to civilization).I did cut down a rubber Mulch Mat Tree Ring to fit the planter and the cats will not be an issue when we move the plant indoors for the winter. The mat ring also keep the moisture in and the weeds out!I am almost completely happy.CONS:While I somewhat expected a grafted tree, it is taller than I thought it would be. It is already 30" tall (above soil) and not as 'bushy' as I had hoped it to be. The first branch comes out at 14" and is growing straight up. I may be able to change that over time.

very enjoyable plant
I considered buying a dwarf citrus tree for quite some time before settling on this item/seller. I purchased my lime tree in May 2014 and anxiously awaited it's arrival. Would it be a bountiful, healthy tree or a dead stick? I had seen reviewers' pictures of both options. I had something in between. A very healthy looking tree, probably two feet tall and made up of three main branches, all with very healthy leaves. The branches were somewhat twisted from shipping, but were flexible enough to go back into shape within a week or so. I live in Michigan, and my tree lived happily on my patio all through late spring, summer and the beginning of fall. We had frequent enough rain and not a super hot summer, so it did not require diligent watering and still thrived. I moved it back inside to a sunny room in October and have been watering a couple times per week. It grew like crazy outside and has continued to grow even since moving inside. I have been remiss in taking photos of the growth, but am attaching a fairly recent one to give an idea of it's size now. I haven't been great about fertilizing it, so no blooms/limes for me yet, but the smell is amazing, especially from the newest leaves. It has been a real pleasure to watch this little guy flourish!Update 3/26/16:I have now had this tree for nearly two years. It has grown so large that I am concerned I would damage it if I attempted to move it outside again in warm weather. It has stayed indoors since the summer of 2014. I have fertilized it a few times, and somewhat gave up on getting any fruit. It has also dropped a bunch of leaves at different points in time. Then, a couple weeks ago, several buds appeared. One has opened fully and even more buds have formed since then. I'm so excited to see the progress every day!

Not what I expected
Nowhere on the site/description did it mention you need a second tree so that they can germinate...if you only buy one, you'll never have limes. I think that's a little misleading, since in the pic it shows a LIME. I'll get another. I had to prune off the tops of branches and repot...the delivery pot was too small (plastic and I'm sure only meant to be temporary). It is a tempermental plant....I have to have it indoors in winter and outside now so it is potted. I think it finally has adjusted to me and is thriving. Now I have to find it a boyfriend =(

Very happy with this tree
My 2-3 year old Persian lime tree arrived last week and it's exactly like I expected. It was about 2 feet tall and in excellent health. I can see significant new growth in just a week of sitting out on my patio. Because I live in the Florida, the tree was shipped from a nursery in the Jacksonville area. It did take 2 weeks to process the order, but the tree arrived in great condition even though UPS didn't seem to care about the 'Fragile - this side up' and left all 3 of my tree boxes on their side. (I also bought a Meyer Lemon and Blood Orange from the same seller.) I took a few pictures that I will upload.

The tree came as advertised. Very healthy looking and well packaged. It is getting cold here, in North Carolina, so it will be indoors for the winter. I purchased an LED grow light to see if I can start next spring with a more robust plant. I will report more when I have more data.

Amazing Tree!
I purchased this tree not thinking I would get limes for years. For someone who can kill a Christmas Cactus, I can't believe how well this tree is doing. I got about a dozen limes from it this summer, and although it is indoors for the winter, I have so many flowers and growing limes that I can't count. If you are thinking about buying this tree, do not hesitate. One of my best purchases ever.

Still healthy after 6 months
Have had this tree for about 6 months. Put it in a big pot in my kitchen. It's still going strong. No fruit this season but may have missed the blooming time.
