Does Exactly What It Says On The Box
OK, so we noticed some potatoes had been nibbled in our larder. Thought nothing of it, maybe they came like that? But a few days later, some more distinctive nibbling. Oh boy, we must have a rodent of some sort. Looked for it, couldn't find it. Maybe it went outside again? Few days later, yikes! there he was, a mouse running along the floor and then under the kitchen cabinet. Again we couldn't find it. So being the kind considerate to nature types we thought we needed a humane catcher of some sort.We read a few reviews of various types and settled on this one thinking that two traps are better than one, ordered at 7pm and by 4pm next day we had two humane traps ready to deploy. At 5pm, we put them down baited with a few bits of cheese and a small bit of chocolate in each one, stationed one in the larder and another near the entrance to a little alcove where the hoover and boxes are kept off the side of the kitchen. We thought we'd need to leave them a few days to catch the little so and so. I kid you not, within an hour I got a shout from the kitchen to say a mouse was trapped inside one of the traps! We released it at least a mile away from the house to prevent a re-visit. Traps have been down and primed for a further 2 days and nothing, no more nibbling, no more mouse droppings. So all I can say is job done... if you think you've got a mouse then this trap works. One happy household here.

Good trap/idea but did not trigger on tiny mice.
Dog chased a mouse upstairs and we trapped it in behind our fireplace. Put all sorts of snap traps, glue traps and these down yet he avoided everything for nearly 2 weeks. We set up a trail camera and we saw it entering the humane trap multiple times without triggering it. Read the tip about coins to weigh the platform down for small mice, but even 2 2p coins wouldn't set it off. Anything else on it meant it couldnt be set. He eventually escaped into a wardrobe and after a frantic prodding of coats he dropped out and ran straight to the back of the humane trap TWICE and it STILL didn't go off. (We did get rid eventually by other methods. Sorry mouse - you had plenty of chances!).The trap seems well made and a great idea - especially for such tender little things - but the sensitivity of the platform is hit and miss. Not at all suitable for tiny mice. The manufacturer needs to add some extra sensitivity to the platform.Really disappointed it didn't go off as we would've caught mouse a week earlier and saved us some monemental stress - however the trap does get plus points for it being well made but also inviting to mice as nothing else even tempted it.I would buy an upgraded sensitivity version.

Good, but needs tweaking for really light mice.
I caught several mice with this device so it definitely works, but I had to tweak it - if you carefully remove the base you can access the spring and just bend it slightly flatter so less pressure is needed to compress it and so less weight is needed on the trigger to shut the door. If you bend it too flat though then the door won't stay open at all so you need to find the perfect amount via trial and error. Note that the base isn't designed to be removed - it's just possible if you're careful although you do risk snapping some of the plastic clips as you bend them. Once a mouse is caught it tends to make quite a mess inside (unless you notice immediately and release it) and so I prefer to clean it as part of setting it again, which is a bit fiddly but all the parts tolerate soap and hot water.

Works outdoors for field voles and wood mice in the vegetable patch!
Ordered on Friday, delivered Saturday morning on standard Amazon free delivery. We have been suspecting a rodent problem with tunnels in the vegetable patch and pea seed sowings being ‘stolen’ as well as pea plants being chewed through the stems at the base, thus killing them. Hubby had a ‘Big Cheese’ trap which showed no activity over 2 days. These traps are really easy to use, although lightweight and I suspect the plastic casing can be prone to damage. Because of the straightforward ‘straight’ layout, the bait at the end can be easily seen and smelt by curious rodents, therefore tempting them in.I wasn’t sure how effective they would be outdoors but was worth a try. Set them up as recommended, sticking a 2p piece to the far end of the trigger plate and adding some biscuits, fruit and nuts (and a chocolate button to one). Placed them out in the pea patch, one directly opposite the tunnel entrance and one parallel along a row of pea plants at 6.30pm. Checked on traps at 7.30 and both traps had sprung catching 2 field voles! Result! Released the critters in a park a little under a mile away, came home and reset the traps. Checked again 1 1/2 hours later and caught the field mouse I had spotted two nights ago eating peas.I can’t be more pleased by the results thus far! Hopefully my peas have a fighting chance now!

Looked on Amazon and these were recommended, ordered on Saturday 9th December for delivery on ...
What can I say. We thought we were getting some uninvited guests into our bungalow after the demolition of the house next door. Confirmation came a couple of weeks ago when we spotted one running across the floor. Found our old much smaller humane traps from about 10 years ago and baited them as before - nothing for a few days but when I inspected them the bait had gone but trap was still unsprung. Tried re positioning traps etc but still the same result. Looked on Amazon and these were recommended, ordered on Saturday 9th December for delivery on Monday 11th but got an email to say that they would be delivered on Sunday 10th. As I had seen one of the little interlopers on Sunday morning, I was the the most excited about a Christmas delivery that I have been for over 45 years! Parcel arrived at 6:00 PM, trap was in place by 6:20 baited with white chocolate digestive nibbles (apologies to my other half for that but needs must) . At 6:50 we both heard a reassuring click and found the little beggar inside the trap! I deposited it some distance away near an old barn across a river, so hopefully it isn't some kind of super homing mouse. I don't write reviews very often at all but this trap is BRILLIANT. Once caught, the mouse after being initially desperate to get out, decided to carry on eating the bait and seemed to take it all in his stride. One of my best ever purchases and it arrived so quickly (the day before it was due).
