Delicious, hearty, healthy
Ever since visiting Scotland and falling in love w "Scots oats", I have been ordering Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oats. They are nutty, wholesome tasting, healthy, and consistently great quality. Where rolled oats tend to be more pasty and feel like a lump in your stomach, these are less processed so more nutritious. If I can count these as one of my " comfort foods" that says it right there !

Porridge....?
So one day for breakfast I ordered porridge from the menu while I was in a Dublin bistro. Perhaps I just wanted something I had never ordered before. Perhaps a bit to my surprise,it was delicious. I spent a year trying to figure out how to replicate it in my microwave in New York. Then I found Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal, and my problem was solved. Once I got my milk to oats to cinnamon proportions down and my microwave timing established, I was off to the races. This stuff is great. Smooth, not pasty, not lumpy but very hearty. It's a breakfast that powers me for a good morning's work, or a long bike ride. If you're going to prepare it in a microwave, there might be a slight learning curve.... when to stop and stir, how long is too long etc, but it'll be worth it in the end. This stuff is now just about my favorite breakfast and that's a good thing because my former favorite, bacon and eggs, needed to take a distant back seat for health reasons.

I am sold on it.
This is the goo. The go to oatmeal. I had eaten BRM steel cut for a long time, and mostly enjoyed it, but it took too long to cook in the mic. This Scottish cooks up quickly and has perfect consistency and excellent flavor. I won't need to try any other oatmeal after this. I am sold on it. Watch out bad LDL cholesterol, bunker busting bombs are in bound!

Add cherries, yogurt, nuts--super breakfast!
I like the texture of this, and the fact that it's easy to make in the microwave-which I didn't find to be true with steel cut oats. I use about two tablespoonfuls (as coffee scoops), add enough water to cover, then add frozen cherries (Costco has terrific frozen cherries), then microwave for three minutes. Then I mix in plain Greek yogurt and pecan halves (also from Costco) and I have a tasty, healthy breakfast that stays with me. You can also add other fruits and nuts--blueberries, walnuts, whatever you like--though I tend to stay with the same thing, mainly because I'm not usually awake enough to get creative!

Best Oatmeal You'll Ever Eat!
I haven't always been an "oatmeal" lover unless it was in cookies! HOWEVER, I have become very fond of Bob's Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal because it is more grainy than sticky/pasty (which I do not like), it has a smooth nutty flavor! We add a little cinnamon and a pinch of sugar or honey! It cooks in about 8 minutes (at a very low temp) and it's very important to SLOWLY pour the oatmeal into the boiling water while whisking so as not to get a clumpy mess. I also stir it about half way through the cooking process to keep it moist and prevent it from burning on the bottom. This is the best oatmeal you'll ever eat! We love it!

Best oatmeal EVER
I almost hate to let the secret out. This is 100% whole grain, but cooks with milk in the microwave in under five minutes. What is the secret? It is stone milled - some of it is oat flour, some bigger chunks - it make a creamy but nutty oatmeal that cooks very quickly. To me, steel cut oats get boring - the texture is so monotonous and it never gets really creamy. Cooking with milk on the stove is a real chore, but cooking oatmeal with milk makes it so much more flavorful and creamy. My local health food stores and Publix cannot keep it on the shelf. This is a better buy anyway. My 8 and 7 yr old both love it (with brown sugar of course).

There is no oatmeal better out there
There is no oatmeal better out there, in my opinion, than this one! I am very selective about my oatmeal. I've tried many brands, many types, from rolled oats to steel cut oats from Ireland, and this is my fave. I love this product because it's creamy and delicious, quality, it doesn't take too long to cook, and I feel good about purchasing it. I've purchased many other Bob's Red Mill products and am always very happy with them. I buy this product in the 3-pack from Amazon and I am SO pleased with the price value and the quality. Thank you for such a delicious oatmeal!

Perfect Oatmeal
Oh how we love Scottish Oatmeal... Comes 3 to a box at a great price.. and because we are prime, shipping is free and fast. It's our go to breakfast each day. Keeps us full as well. Going to make the oatmeal scones this weekend... major yum. This is not your run of the mill oatmeal. It takes 10 minutes to cook up a pot, but it's so worth the wait. semi-smooth texture... definitely not the texture of steel cut oats. Impossible to describe. Try a bag, you'll be back for the 3pack...
