Stainless Steel 304L Seamless Round Tubing, 3/8" OD, 0.319" ID, 0.028" Wall, 12" Length

This tubing is indeed seamless and arrived in great condition. They pack it in a super-strong, thick, cardboard tube that could almost be used as a weapon! I have ordered these stainless tubes a few times and they've always arrived in super straight, un-bent and un-warped lengths, which is what I wanted because I machine them into segments with special ends. The outer finish is semi-polished, better than it shows in the picture (IMO) so if one were looking to make decorative products it could probably be used as is w/o really any polishing. If you wanted a highly polished surface, a few runs under a buffing wheel should bring it to a high luster. On the pieces I have received there haven't been manufacturing pits or belmishes that would need to be worked out. Speaking of machining, it machines well. I use small carbide tip bits on a mini lathe which cut nicer than high speed bits IMO and produce a more uniform finish. These are the only way to go IMO to get a nice cut on the stainless.

The product was exactly as specified. It arrived nicely packaged in a heavy duty cardboard tube, with each piece encased in thin protective plastic and brown paper stuffed in the ends to keep the pieces from banging together during transit. The dimensions (diameter & wall thickness) were accurate, and the length measured an extra 3/8" beyond the 72" I ordered. Very satisified. Would not hesitate to order again. Highly recommended.I used this to custom fabricate a folding spray dodger (like a bimini top, but with a windshield to deflect spray). The 7/8" O.D. tubing (3/64" wall) turned out to be perfect for this purpose. It took a 10" radius bend easily, with no kinks or wrinkles. And 3/4" O.D. tubing fits the inside diameter very closely if you need to make splines for joining multiple pieces together.

- My tube arrived ahead of schedule, and in excellent condition. I started with one piece 1' long to see how I like the thinner wall (I'd originally gotten the version with .065" thick walls, and that is a pain to drill). The .035" seems to be plenty strong for my project, so I think it will do fine.- The finish is "mill finish", not shiny but better than what the photo shows - the "brushes" look is not deeply cut into the surface, so It polishes up - pretty easily to a good shine, if that's what you want.

There isn't much to say about stainless tubing, it's a pretty basic product.-It was not bent-Dimensionally accurate-The packaging was industrial strength cardboard tubing. The ends were padded to account for the shorter stainless tube length.-The cardboard had tight fitting end caps, which were also taped. There was no way the delivery service could have damaged it short of deliberately driving over it.-The ends were not jagged, so no fear of cuts on burrs.-Shipping was pretty reasonably quick.If you need a straight piece of stainless with no fear of bends or kinks when it arrives, this is it.

I have turned a lot of 304L and this was not like any 304L I have ever machined. This was very difficult to machine and work hardened instantly if I did not make heavy cuts.It arrived already turned down by someone else to close to the advertised O.D. which I though was odd... I have never bought tubing that had already been machined.

Not exactly what I wanted, but my own fault. Paid more attention to the picture than the actual details. Very thin wall pipe. I needed something much heavier. As I said, my own fault for not paying better attention to the details.

I use this tubing on my aluminum solar powered boat. The tubes act as bolt spacers so I don't crush the aluminum tubes. This boat is a small ocean boat with zinc anodes so that the stainless and aluminum don't start eating each other. No rust on this stainless tube or the stainless bolts.
