Having learned to drink coffee in Ethiopia, I had high hopes for this one, but it wasn't to be. I prefer a true light or medium roast, while this one was much more toward a dark roast with a slightly burnt taste. I tried several combinations in both a French press and conventional coffee maker, but none were quite to my liking.

The coffee is delicious. I am not a connoisseur but I wanted to try a high end coffee. My tastes are more toward the dark roast smoky french roast flavors. So when I first got the medium roast it took some time to appreciate what I was drinking. It is a very smooth and delicate flavored coffee and not the punch you in the tongue french roast I usually drink. It was very smooth with no bitterness at all. The coffee was super fresh, roasted within a couple days. I definitely recommend trying this coffee. It won't disappoint.

This is a really great coffee. Great balance of flavors - very smooth. If coffee is as big a part of your day as it is mine and so many others, I think you'll find that this is worth getting. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely the BEST coffee for a refined palate! Not a coffee region for those used to harsh acidic STRONG coffee. Ethiopian is so subtle and so smooth, and you have to prepare yourself for this refined coffee first. Learn about single source Ethiopian then taste it. Has a refined taste of blueberry, if you allow the coffee to be consumed and then savored like a fine tea or wine. Once you get used to the difference in coffee quality then you will not want to go back to powerful coffee again. Your tastes will begin to change and mature. You will begin to crave it! I'm not joking because it happened to my husband who was a hard core Dark Sumatra drinker.
