Bull's Balls Paperback – January 1, 1621

Bull's Balls by Ralf Konig is a just a small part of the on going saga that is Konrad und Paul. I enjoyed this book even though it is set in the early 1990's when it was first written. Ralf Konig's grasp of the Leather community is extensive and I like the way that he weaves it into the story line. When I got this book I read it in one stting since I found it compelling. I like the characters and style, It's too bad that more of Konrad und Paul ist nicht im English. I feel like we're missing out in the US. However, Bull's Balls is still a timeless and gripping story especially since even though things change they still feel the same.Danke,Herr Billy

They should translate all of Ralf Konig's books!! They are wonderful, funny, raunchy, precisely-observed. Sort of like Jane Austen and Don Martin's love child...

Good comic, would of been better in english, but it was still good and funny.

I heard of Ralf Konig via the movie 'Killer Condom' and having seem some funny examples of his work online, decided to read 'Bull's Balls' - a choice I'm ashamed to admit, made mainly through my appreciation of the front cover. Perhaps I shouldn't be so surprised then with my disappointment at what I saw as a simplistic, predictable and incomplete work.However, I'm willing to give Konig the benefit of the doubt. As a previous reviewer has said, a lot of humour and energy was probably lost in the translation. The parts where the characters didn't talk were certainly more enjoyable than the long and tedious sections of dialogue that dominate this comic.After a while though, I think even the style of illustration also began to annoy me. Konig's contemptible depiction of women especially grated with me - and that's considering that I'm a man.Anyway, if you can chase down a copy of this comic without buying it, I'd advise you to do that. It's mildly titillating, but not really worth buying if you can't appreciate the original German version.

This is a full-length black & white graphic novel with strong adult gay content. I found it to be outrageously funny, sad, real and poignant. It chronicles a German gay couple that has been together for ten years, as both of them get the itch for something different. One for his piano student, who, as fate would have it, happens to be coming out at the same time to the surprise of his family & admirer. The other, for a mountain of man, quite bearish, a construction worker from Barcelona who is ostensibly straight, but not narrow. The ending is poetic, and refreshingly real.

I gave this book to a gay friend as a present and he said he has spent many enjoyable moments with the book...!What I especially appreciate is that the English translation is very good. Classic Ralf Konig! Very funny!

Mein Original "Bullenklöten!" ist mit einem Alter von dreißig Jahren schon in die Jahre gekommenes Taschenbuch. Um das gute Stück nun zu schonen, habe ich mich schon auf das stabilere gebunden Buch gefreut.Hier wurde wahrscheinlich eine Originalausgabe einfach fotokopiert. Ramon hat keine dunkle Haut mehr. Viele Stellen, die grau gezeichnet waren, sind jetzt weiß. Schatten und dunklere Stellen, die mit eng anliegenden Punkten oder mit feinem Karomuster im Original gezeichnet waren, sind jetzt schwarze Flächen. Das, was dargestellt ist, ist jetzt nicht mehr zu erkennen. Hier wurde mit Kontrast und Helligkeit bei der Umsetzung schlecht gearbeitet. Schade für eine Sonderausgabe.

Als Hetero fand ich diesen Genrecomic sehr informativ und wirklich humorvoll. Absolut für jeden lesenswert und durchaus mit Tiefgang. Kein platter Humor. Kannte den Zeichner Ralf König nur oberflächlich - hatte bisher kein Interesse. Finde seinen Comic, zeichnerisch und textlich toll. Meiner Meinung nach ein Plus in jeder Bibliothek oder ein nettes Geschenk für weltoffene, humorvolle Menschen.

Die Darstellungen sind teilweise so explizit, dass es an Pornografie grenzt - tut der Sache aber keinen Abbruch, ist einfach super komisch, alles!
