Interesting varietty, good results
Our family is working on limiting the amount of sugar and, to a lesser extent, the total carbs in our diet while still keeping an eye on total calories. Dana's recipes fit our requirements and they are mostly easy to prepare and flavorful. We are enjoying the wide variety of cuisines and the cook is enjoying the fact that most of the recipes are already gluten free. There are lots of breakfasts, snacks, lunches and dinner options but not many sweets. This book uses Splenda frequently,if that matters to you. I've used stevia in many dishes with good results. Since most recipes do not rely heavily on fat for flavor, I consider this a useful book for anyone looking for flavorful, creative and healthy meals.

The best yet...
I love Dana's previous cookbooks, so I had to buy this as soon as I saw it. I've never posted a review on amazon, but I love this book so much I had to. I spend evenings paging through it trying to decide which recipe to make next, out of all the delicious recipes. They are easy too. Some recipes even have a wide variety of ingredients, which I love. I am part of a CSA (community supported agriculture) and I get some of those ingredients in my weekly boxes (fennel, leeks, radicchio, etc).I've made the Bran muffins, gyros, lime ginger yogurt fruit dip and they were all delicious. Next is Tequila-Lime Chicken Skillet.Like another reviewer said, she also has great nutrional information in the beginning of the book.I'd recommend this book to everyone!

better then some of her other books
I liked that she incorporated some carbs into her recipes. The zero carb thing is almost impossible to do. Plus, your body actually needs some carbs for it to produce energy. Our problem is when we over indulged on carbs. That's my problem! This is why I like this book. I get some carbs so my body is ok but I'm also satisfied too.

Again a winner
Dana never writes a bad book in my opinion. I loved her then and I love her now. She never disappoints me. This book is written for the calorie counters - not just the carb counters. I appreciate this as I need to be aware of both at my house. Keep up the good work Dana - hope you put out more books with the extra nutritional information like this one!

Love the nutritional info.
I just started a low carb, but LOW FAT diet and I needed low carb recipes that give all of the nutritional information for each one. This book has calories, fat, carbs etc. for each recipe so I can pick ones with a low fat count. In my opinion, all cookbooks that are about "healthy" cooking should have the nutritional information for each recipe.

For Hardcore Fans
I had high hopes for this cookbook, but it's been languishing on my shelf since it arrived. Apparently, it was typeset by the blind, with four different fonts for each recipe, in a nausea-inducing attempt to be... creative? I'm not sure. Take it from a graphic artist: more than two, at most three fonts on a page is UGLY. In addition, the format used by the previous 500 Recipes, with one recipe on a page, is not used. If you're sensitive to the beauty of a well-laid out book, you will hate this one. I'm sorry I can't comment on the recipes themselves, since I found myself unable to read them, without an immediate headache. Get Carpender's earlier books, or try to see this in the store first. If it doesn't bother you, then you can go ahead and order it from Amazon.

Dana Carpender's Every Calorie Counts
Ms. Carpender's cook books are always great, as they are easy to follow, and she has lots of good recipes in them. Since she follows the low-carb diet in her own life, she knows what people want to eat!

Great addition!
Have other of her books and she is a great writer and great recipes! I liked the concept of being able to know the calories but being on low carb calories are not always critical if you don't staff yourself! I just thought might want to know the calories once in a whole when they matter! I have been on low carb for years and it's easy once you make the decision up follow that way of life and recipe books sometimes makes the difference on whether you will stick to it or not! Once in a while a kilogram or two in weight needs to be shed and do watching the calories might come in handy!
