Our first and favorite Thomas Locker book. Our sons loved it and now so do our grandsons!Beautifully illustrated story of two boys on a camping trip up the river with their grandfather as he shows them the origins of the river that flows by by their home. We enjoy their sights, discoveries and the close relationship with their grandfather. The oil painted illustrations are gorgeous with trees like a Gainsborough painting.I highly recommend his equally excellent second book with the same characters, The Mare on the Hill: https://www.amazon.com/Mare-Hill-Thomas-Locker/dp/0803702078
