The only known footage of the 1990 concert by Bad Religion which never began. The fire department decided to cancel the gig due to overcrowding which led to fans turning into an angry mob and causing $25,000 of damage. Also included is footage from the 1988 Suffer Tour.

What can I say?...it's Bad Religion
It's freakin' Bad Religion. I like collecting stuff from great bands, so I don't mind so much the shaky camera and lackluster quality. It's also a historical event...the whole "riot" thing at what would have been a truly kickass show. If you want a great performance, I recommend the "along the way" dvd. 2nd would be the paladium dvd. for true fans, get the riot dvd. for intro to bad religion, get along the way.peace

A milestone in punk rock history
Well, lets start by saying that this video is now a DVD. There is no beginning, and there is no ending. There is a mild riot captured by skateboarder and DVD producer Richard White who also happens to be the bass player of legendary punk band "No Apparent Reason."The riot footage was broadcast on ABC's World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. If the riot footage was good enough for Peter Jennings and ABC news then it's good enough for the world, and this really cool DVD!This world wide publicity gave Epitaph records, Brett Gurewitz, and Bad Religion the kick start they needed to take punk rock to the next level. Epitaph going from a small struggling indie label in 1990 to a huge indie label in 1992, as a result of this worldwide publicity. Bad Religion became the political voice of punk rocks' mainstream. In the fall of 2006 this DVD is being re-released with never before seen footage of Bad Religion's make up show from the canceled riot, which was held at the Hollywood Palladium in 1991, the band performs "I want to conquer the world"Includes "previously unreleased footage," 13 minutes of some of the best skateboarding footage ever captured on tape. With skateboarders Steve Alba, Duane Peters,Brian Patch, Eric Dressen, Tony Alva, Mike V., Lance Mountain, Jeff Grosso, and many more. This DVD is punk rock, it's sound quality is pureraw grain, for real, and all noise, just like you were there. The audio was not processed through a 48 track digital computer compressor..folks this is the real deal. This DVD is pure punk rock history, a great document of a time in which punk rock and pop culture would be changed forever by a skateboarder with a video camera.Source: L.A.Access Video

Great playlist...what could you expect?
Early days...Pete Fineston on drums kit, Greg Hetson with long hair, a bit more hair on Greg Graffin's head and now-millionnaire Gurewitz dressed in Converge...THAT'S AWESOME! Now, about the music. Hard to believe Suffer was for once called 'the brand new album' from Bad Religion. Lots of songs are from that cd, plus earlier work like Frogger, Drastic Actions... Really great compilation. Graffin shows on earlier songs how unique and incredible lyricist he is. He should have been president, but eh...you can't always get what you want! And for those who are complaining about the sound, I think it adds some charm to the whole thing, plus, it's only punk rock right?

Really cool Bad Religion DVD
I must say that this DVD is not a Hollywood Magical Production. It's reality punk rock from the gutter. A historical milestone in the genre. Produced on video and packaged well, for the dvd format. The features are great, comments, the backstage footage is cool too, and the concert at Devonshire Downs is really awesome of the bands "suffer" tour from 1988. The sound quality is a little raspy in the first song, Greg Graffin is a little drowned out, but the mix is better after the first song, and you can hear the vocals, bass, drums, guitar, it's rad footage with Graffin, Greg Hetson, Jay Bentley, Brett Gurewitz, and Pete Finestone on Drums. This is the original line up. Two songs; Part III and Doing Time are professionally edited with awesome sound and multiple camera action. The full concert has a real raw sound, it's really good stuff. Pure Punk Rock the way it's meant to be. The riot is what was used on ABC news in 1990. Lots of reality action from inside the theater as the show gets shut down, and some slow parts, lots of glass. I give this DVD/video a B minus, with a C plus audio. A great colletors dvd worth every penny. If your afraid of punk rock reality don't buy this dvd.

Slightly disappointed
Without a doubt, this DVD contains an excellent playlist of Bad Religion songs. Unfortunately, the audio is disappointing. The vocals are often drowned out by the instruments. When I first watched it, I was slightly disgruntled; however, during my second viewing, I turned up the volume and found myself enjoying the experience. The riot material is pathetic. The camera wasn't inside for the actual riot. You saw the tentative beginnings of one, then the camera footage immediately cut to outside the theater for the aftermath. I felt very misled by the promise of riot material.I would only recommend this DVD to Bad Religion fans or someone who wants to build upon their collection of punk performances.Undoubtedly, Bad Religion is an amazing band, but the audio quality on this DVD sells them short.

could be better...alot better
i saw this video on the shelf at a sam goody and got all excited. hey....its bad religion how can you not. and was all depressed when i left cuz i had no money for the video.about a month later i went into a diffrent video store and bougth the video. on the way home i was reading the cover getting all excited. trembling in anticipation. expecting to see bad religion in top form and a riot like in the movies. blood , violence, burning buildings destroyed cars.and as i put in the tape and watch it i said to myself "the concerts alright... they could have had a better camera angle tho" and as i saw that the riot footage was coming on i got really exctied and by the end the footage i was pissed. i spend 20 bucks and all i got was some broken glass, concert goers rambling on about nothing. the bad religion stuff is ok. so let me sum this video up for you. unless you like bad religion old stuff alot or you are a hardcore bad relgion fan. you wouldnt like it. personally i like the proformance. bad religion did a good job. but the riot sucked

I knew what I bought.
And loved it!.. It's a compilation of old recordings so don't expect any HD content or crisp digital sound. Treat it like a documentay of pure punk, and you will value it. It's essentially ald old VHS recorded on a disc so it will fit in your dvd/ blu-ray player. A good buy for a hardcore fan, but then again who else would buy this.. Enjoy!
