Danielson Sportsman Sargent Type Pliers

Ordered these pliers and a Calcutta Sheath since it was much cheaper then buying the name brand Manley pliers. After receiving my order promptly from Amazon as always I opened the package and saw my pliers and Sheath. Overall the Sheath is great and for the price you can't beat it. It isn't the best quality because a split ring bent and was no longer usable so I had to replace it with one from around the house, along with that you can tell the sheath although sturdy was not made with 'love' and is mass produced for quantity not quality. However I would recommend it because it has very nice features and holds up well for normal fishing. Anyway the Danielson Pliers I am reviewing here on the other hand... These pliers recieve 2 stars in my book because they do function and look moderatley good. However after trying o cut an abderdeen 2/0 Eagle Claw hook (Very Thin and bendable) the pliers failed me and instead the cutters chipped. This was my very first attempt to cut with them. Afterward I got over that and tried to make some leaders and could not cut line at all any more with these pliers because of the cutters being chipped. Could not cut Mono, Flouro, or Braid witht these and even cutting Mono on the part of the cutters that weren' chipped was still challenging. The pliers are also much smaller then you would imagine. More like a novelty probably great for a child wanting to have his own set of "Manley" type pliers. So in all these are too small unless you're a child and the metal is very weak. The plier jaws themselves are sturdy enouph to take hooks out of a fish mouth but besides that these are pretty worthless. I have never reviewed anything on Amazon but felt the need to warn people about these pliers and I have returned them, Amazon gets 5/5 because they gave me a return label with no problem and I know will refund me without any issue. I wish this would have ended up differently but overall spend the extra $25.00 and get the Manley's like I ended up doing. Honestly 1000x better in everyway and you can tell they handmake each pair with 'love'Thanks Mike S.
