I previously used the Insta360 X3 and was very satisfied overall with its performance and image quality. However, one thing that always bothered me was the wind noise during outdoor shooting. It often interfered with the audio and made editing a bit of a hassle. After seeing numerous reviews and comparison videos on YouTube, I decided to upgrade to the X5. Many creators mentioned significant improvements in both video quality and microphone performance, which convinced me to give it a try. After unboxing and testing it myself, I can say the upgrade is real — the image is noticeably sharper with better dynamic range, and the audio quality has improved a lot, especially in windy conditions. The interface is also more responsive and user-friendly. I’m super excited to take the X5 with me for this year’s ski and snowboard season. I’m looking forward to capturing immersive 360° footage with much better clarity and sound. Highly recommended, especially for those considering an upgrade from the X3!

Perfect for action videography enthusiasts in Japan's diverse landscapes As someone who loves capturing stable action videos during hikes and treks around Japan, I picked up the Insta360 X5 Essential Kit to experiment with 360° filming. After two test shoots - one at an ancient temple near my home and another at a nighttime beach fireworks show - I'm impressed with the results but have some practical concerns. Video Quality - Outstanding: The footage quality is genuinely amazing. Both the temple walk and fireworks show came out beautifully, with the 360° capability adding an immersive dimension I never expected. The stabilization works incredibly well for action shots, and the 4K at 60fps delivers crisp, smooth footage that rivals much more expensive equipment. Battery Life Reality Check: Here's where expectations meet reality - recording in 360° at 4K/60fps, I got only 77 minutes of battery life. For serious hiking or longer adventures, this is limiting. Thankfully, the Essential Kit includes a second battery and portable quick charger, which proved essential. I can already tell I'll need to purchase a third battery for longer excursions. Heat Management Issue: The device gets significantly hot during extended recording sessions. Not just warm - genuinely hot to the touch. This didn't affect performance during my tests, but it's something to be aware of, especially for longer recording sessions or in Japan's humid summers. Essential Kit Value: The kit's inclusion of an extra battery and charger immediately proves its worth. Without these accessories, the camera would be much less practical for real-world use. Future Plans & Accessories: Already planning to add the dive case for water activities and the 3m selfie stick to simulate drone footage - the camera's capabilities make these expansions exciting prospects. Bottom Line: Exceptional video quality and stabilization with some practical limitations. Plan for multiple batteries and be prepared for heat generation, but the footage quality makes it worthwhile for adventure documentation. Recommended for: Action videographers, travel enthusiasts, and anyone wanting to step up from traditional action cameras to 360° filming.

見た目のまま、360度カメラです。 撮影時、ズームなどは出来ません。少し広角に撮れます。 予備バッテリーの用意、充電しながらの使用をお勧めします。 アプリを利用すると、まさに360度カメラ！！という画像が作れたり、編集も出来たりして楽しいです。 僕は、自動車のドラレコやロードバイクサイクリングの動画などで、使用しています。

X4からの乗り換えです。 全てがグレードアップしてます。 暗所のピュアビデオモードにしなくても 明るく撮れるのが凄い。 HDRで60fpsで撮れるのも嬉しい。 不満点は充電を差す箇所が機体右下の角になり マグネット脱着の自撮り棒を外さないと 蓋が開かなくなったことぐらいかな。

文句なしの性能だと思います。 今までGoProを使ってましたが、これからはX5一個で全てのシーンをまかなえると思います。 仮想ジンバルや夜間性能は最高でした。 残念なのはバッテリーの持ちです。200分との表記ですがどの設定に変えても70〜80分しか持ちません。 後は発熱でしょうか？ ま、それを見越して白を購入したのですが冬なのにこれだと夏が心配です。

I got into 360 cameras when the ONE X came out and loved them ever since. The X5 is a great camera and takes stunning 360 videos. Imported into a VR Headset they look great. For Multi-Media they are fantastic and the Free apps are the best. This is the best 360 for low light shots and the replaceable lenses are a game changer... Now they say 8K (4K sensors x 2) but the capture is circular so 15-20% of the sensor is unused by the lens so it is really 6.5k or so not 8K but still the images look great just don't expect to zoom in a lot in post because the resolution is just not there. Still, I only use this camera these days in place of my DSLR and action cams...

O produto incrível.. qualidade surpreendente, só lembrando que precisa comprar a parte um cartão mini sd de alta velocidade, ele é diferente dos sd normais, pq a câmera tem qualidade absurda onde o cartão normal não vai funcionar... Compre uma capa de proteção de lente emborrachada, e se divirta com a câmera..

The first thing I noticed was the big improvement in low-light performance. It has dual 1/1.28″ sensors and three AI chips. Shadows now show detail, highlights don’t get washed out, and there is much less noise compared to the X3 or even the X4. They have now added a new feature in the last software upgrade called ‘Adaptive Tone’, which is supposed to improve even further, but I have not had a chance to try it yet. One of my favourite new features is InstaFrame Mode. It provides a ready-to-share flat 1080p video in selfie-view or fixed mode, while also capturing a full 360° file at 5.7K at 30 fps. So if you need quick social clips but want to revisit the full reframed version later, you’re all set. Then there's the replaceable lens design. I often worry about scratching equipment and have dropped my camera on several occasions. I don’t like to use lens shields as I do believe this compromises quality. Let's face it, with my DSLR expensive lenses of £2,700, would you put a £10 filter on the front? Well, I hope not! Being able to pop off and swap lenses myself, without having to ship the whole camera, is a total game-changer. Battery life and heat management have improved, too. The battery is more powerful, but the camera needs it, so it’s not going to last the whole day. It needs more power than the X3, and I think battery time is a little better on the X3. If I am honest, the cameras do as usual, get hot, but x2/x3/x5, I have never had any issue with the camera switching off. Now, let’s talk about PureShot in photos. This new AI-powered HDR-like mode blends exposures in one shot. The results are vibrant and crisp, with far fewer blown highlights. It works beautifully in low light, especially at night or in backlit scenes, without needing manual exposure bracketing. In short, upgrading from the X3 made sense because the X5 doesn’t just refine; it redefines. You get cleaner 8K and 5.7K footage, smooth 4K 120fps slow motion, InstaFrame convenience, PureShot brilliance in stills, waterproof durability, better audio with a built-in wind muffler, and easy repairability, all in the same sleek design. Here’s why I upgraded from the X3: Low-light boost: Much cleaner images with higher dynamic range due to upgraded sensors and AI. PureShot mode: One-shot HDR style photos that are vibrant and ready to edit. InstaFrame mode: Simultaneous flat and 360 capture cuts down editing time. Replaceable lenses: Less worry about accidents, cheaper and faster to fix. Better battery and thermal control: Longer shooting sessions and fewer shut downs. If your content depends on flexibility, light performance, and ease of use, especially for low-light or quick social uploads, the X5 is worth the upgrade.
