Okay even though this particular came I received and not have the nice big ball on the top it does have a significant hand grip where the root is supposed to be. It is precisely the right length that I need, has some nice gnarl from the branch trim on it I do kind of wish they would leave a little bit of the branch trimming on there, maybe a 1/8 in or up to a quarter inch just to give it a little character and texture along the shaft. But all in all I cannot complain. It is 100% natural, nice and light, feel sturdy. I'm 6 ft 220 and I have leaned on this just to see how much it would bend and it hardly bends at all. Definitely a very good purchase. Especially when you consider that these are not reproductions but 100% natural so each one is going to be individual unto itself and yes completely different Comma plus the perfectly imperfect Perfection On the shaft. As far as length it is actually 37.25 in length and I think part of that .25 in is going to be from the rubber pad on the bottom. With proper use this walking Aid will help definitely with some balance and with a little practice self-defense if ever needed. The only thing I might do since this is definitely a keeper, is sand off the remaining bark or at least rough it up really good and repaint the shaft a high gloss black or possibly even go mahogany stain in color.

I hate having to use a cane. That said, this cane makes things much easier. The biggest problem is that so many people are in love with it. I LOVE YOUR CANE! DID YOU MAKE THAT? WHERE DID YOU GET THAT CANE? It's everybody. I had two little giggling girls come up to me at Costco and politely said 'excuse me. We really like your cane' Today in an elevator a couple abruptly ended their conversation to ask me about it. On top of all the compliments I get, tge cane has a secret. It has eyes. Some think it looks like a snake. Others say a sloth. Or a brontasaurus. Or the Loch Ness Monster. People want me to give it a mouth...or fangs....or decorate it. This is a constant thing. It really turned out to be a great purchase.

This is a great buy for the money. Of course since this cane is made out of real branches every cane will be different but the finish and the quality of the hardwood is excellent. It was a little thicker at the thinnest end at about one inch than I expected. The only downside of this cane and the reason why I didn't give five stars was it was a little too curvy and twisted for me out of the box. I have a feeling that a lot of other folk would be fine with the curves thinking it just adds character. But I like a straighter stick. I steamed the cane and straightened out on my own. The steam only caused some slight damage to the finish which I don't mind. It now just looks like I've used it for years. If you don't have a steaming setup at home, you could just as easily use a heat gun to straighten out your own cane.
