ジャームズ一世の勅命により翻訳された欽定訳聖書は英文学の第jな源流のひとつでありこの荘厳さは比類がない。くりかえし立ち返って原典に当たるのは楽しい。英文悪の様々な作品も聖書の基礎知識あないと十分理解できないときあよくある。ラテン語のわけのわからない説教をきかされていた中世の礼拝参加者も自国語でなされる説教はうれしかろう。ウィリアム一世のノルマン・コンクエスト以来おとしめられてきた英語の復権に欽定訳聖書の荘厳さは役立ったにちがいない。Heと大文字で書けばイエスキリストのこと、イエスは最後の審判の日が近いと考えていたことなどを知ったのも欽定訳聖書を通じてであった。使われている英語も格調高い。

Just what I was looking for. A clean, easy reading bible in a convenient size. No footnotes. This is one of several bibles in my collection, and this is the only one that I can easily pick up and carry out of the house with me as I go about my day. The text is VERY small - not in my opinion unreasonably small, especially considering that it's advertised as compact. DO consider keeping a magnifying glass or reading glasses with this book.

The bible serves me well while onboard. It's small light and perfect for travel but not to small to compromise the letters...love it!

I believe every one on the plant need the lord in their life!! There is no other life without Jesus in our guide every day!!!

Absolutely beautiful and good quality. Just did not expect it to be a smaller sized Bible. So keep that in mind when buying, it is more so an A5 size.
