It's a bunch of rocks...and that's exactly what I paid for. I bought these to make my own excavation kits for my kids (since I'm sick of them paying $5 for a sand brick with a piece of quartz in it). Eventually we'll tumble them and get them nice and polished, but I think just digging them up will be cool for now. There's a variety of stones: a couple different types of quartz, a piece of fluorite or amethyst, I think lapiz lazuli, and different orange and green stones I haven't identified. There are some neat conglomerates as well. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. When I opened the bag, I was a little disappointed because everything was coated in dust from shipping and just looked grayish. But, when I wet the stones, I could really see the colors and they are beautiful. I consider this a good purchase. My only complaint isn't about the product, but about the packaging: the stones are sold in a heavy plastic bag, but Amazon put that bag into a bubble mailer. The original bag shredded during shipping (as rocks with sharp edges will tend to shred plastic when you jostle them around), and there was a significant hole in the padded Amazon envelope. I hope that all the rocks made it to me and none of them ended up on the post office floor...but the world may never know. Note to Amazon: don't ship sharp/heavy objects in a bubble mailer!

I counted 22 different types of stones instead of the 25 they claim in the description. They are all different. I had a difficult time identifying them. Some I'm still not certain of. None of them really knocked my socks off. I'm planning to tumble them, so we will see how they turn out. It would be nice to get a list of what they give you.

These stones are excellent, after doing some research I opted for Hypnotic Gems over Crystal allies, as allies has quite a few reviews and pictures showing dyed stones and etc.I was not disappointed, apparently from the note on in the packaging, this stuff comes straight from the ground from some sort of mining contract the company has.They came covered in dust, smelling earthy, and looking gritty; THIS IS NOT A CON, they're authentic.After washing them one by one, they all looked rich, with bits of natural rock on some of them from when they where mined.What I'm about to say below is not Objective fact, It's my own subjective truth within Occultism and Metaphysics, take it as you wish; skepticism welcome.Really nice stuff, within my Occult practice, I'm learning about using the programing; natural qualities of stones and their makeup, within my workings. Different stones vibrate differently; everything on earth is just vibrating compressed atoms, and the makeup of each type of stone effects things differently.I keep the stones around my Altar, and I'm experimenting with choosing a new stone each night and sleeping with it, to see what occurs after doing invocations with Spirits in attempts to preform Dreamwork etc.Sort of playing with synergy effects, and keeping a journal to see if repeats of results occur to separate from random chance.If you're an Occultist, and want to experiment with charging/programing objects, messing with elementals, using them for a synergy/empower effect within Rituals, or if you just like natural stones, this is an excellent entry point that won't rip you off.I highly recommend this batch.Viper Magnus.

Very very surprised by quality of these. I knew I was getting a bulk of random stones but honestly I was expecting them to be like pebble or slightly larger size, but these are quite large and when u 1st open the bag it looks like a bunch of dusty, dirty plain rocks u could find outside on the ground anywhere, but Nope once u rinse them off and rub them with a wash cloth you see how amazingly beautiful they ALL are. They are all different kinds of real stones dug straight out of the earth. I got lapis, emerald, amethyst and so many more. They have been untouched or shaped by man. I love how authentic they truly are. They are in no way fake or replicated at all. I have to say I have never been more surprised with the value I got for my money. I highly recommend that someone who knows about loving & using magical stones or just looking to add to a collection that you invest in these stones you will not be disapointed in any way. Great for starting out for cutting polishing.

soooo pretty. I got a rock tumbler for christmas so I ordered some rocks, some to tumble and some to keep. when they first come in, they’ll be a little dusty and dirty (they are rocks of course) and if you want to see some color I suggest soaking them in water for a day or so. obviously I edited that photo a little but the original did not do it justice! i am so excited to see how some of these turn out once I tumble them. I am going to order some more soon.

I was beyond happy with the 12 lb mix. I am very new to lapidary as a hobby and I now have so much to work and learn with. I recieved at least 25 different types of rocks, a couple of beautiful agates and even a smoky quartz. I will definitely be purchasing more products from this company.

I received at least three Sunstones that were better looking than the polished one I spent $6 on.I can tell you that is well worth the money, to get 25 stones for this price and good quality ispriceless. There are Sunstones, Lapis, Jasper (several kinds), Amethyst, Aventurine. Quart and manymore varieties in my package. I also sent one to my friend, before even receiving mine, I just knew inmy heart that they were going to be good Karma stones.I gave 3 stars for presentation, because what do you expect 2 lbs.of rough cut be packaged in?It came in a double plastic bag, which was good because one was slightly ripped and the otherone fell apart. So What?

These stones are beautiful. These are probably the best variety and best quality that I have received so far from numerous sites. I will buy more from this seller for sure! There were some duplicates but at least 18 varieties and nice large stones, including some beautiful picture jasper and two large lapis lazuli. The 3 one pound bags from National Geographic had one minute piece of amethyst crystal in each bag (seriously not even 1/4” - too small to be tumbled but legally meets their obligation to include, I guess). ...but this bag had two large beautiful amethyst stones!!! There were some gorgeous yellow stones with flecks of gold, some spiderweb jasper , carnelian agates and many many more. I’m very pleased.

This genuinely made me happy! There is not a wide variety in it, but the stones that came were pretty even before washing them! I do not intend to tumble them.

Beautiful stones & great selection. Only four stars because needs stronger bag, wrapping was damaged but looked like none were lost.

The selection of gems was fantastic, the size and quality was better than expected.
