BN-LINK Outdoor Power Stake Timer, 24-Hour Mechanical Timer, 6 Outlets

This past year my husband passed away, leaving me to decorate our house for Christmas by myself. The old outdoor garden timer was hard to use and was held together with tape, so I decided to replace it. I chose to purchase this timer because it had a 6 ft. cord, 6 outlets and a waterproof cover. Finally, I wanted a 24 hour timer that was simple to use and was not controlled by my iPhone. I had already gone that route and found it to hard to use. This timer was so easy to program that I didn't need any paper instructions or videos to show me how to set it up. I also found it easy to adjust, which I did several times, to get the correct on and off times. Being from the Seattle area I can attest to how well the waterproof cover works. This is my new favorite outdoor tool. If this 71+ year old lady can use this timer anyone can! I highly recommend it.

These are great. We needed a multi-plug timer for Christmas lights. These are well made and seem durable. The timer was super easy to program and works well. They have a two-part spear that is easy to assemble, screw into the base, and then insert in the ground - even with a dusting of snow today. I like the large cover that allows the cords to come out the bottom.

So far I have bought three of these for various reasons. I use two with high end glow lights and one set all year around in my wife's garden. In each case the units do exactly as needed and have stood up to being moved around and have stood up against storms from all seasons. The only quark is the latch. Its very very tight. Because of this if you read other reviews many people have said it wont close. In reality it can, but because it closes with very little wiggle room anything that might get in the way makes it hard. I learned to make sure not to over stuff the box. Placing the cords to line up properly with the lower sliding slats to ensure its not getting in the way. Using ties to help compact the wires helps as well. After that I just make sure she snaps. Once done its good to go.

Works well, water proof as decribed

I rarely write reviews here at Amazon anymore since they've become so anal about how reviews are written. We have to meet certain unknown criteria in review writing before they are approved, especially negative reviews which Amazon hates because it effects sales of products that they profit from. But, regarding this outdoor timer, it's excellent enough to get me to write this review that no one will ever see, but what the heck, here goes anyway: What impresses me the most is how easily and tight it closes up. The door snaps into closed position and you can even put a lock on the door if you wish to keep nosey kids or neighbors out of your timer box. The really cool thing is on the bottom where your cords exit the box. Most similar outlet covers and timer boxes have tabs that have to be broken off or cut out somehow to provide room for the cords to exit the box and allow the door to close completely. This box has the coolest spring loaded tabs that easily slide back as far as you need for whatever thickness your cords might be. If you remove a cord at a later time, like after the Christmas lights are taken down, the spring loaded tab springs back into the closed position maintaining a good water and spider resistant interior. I liked it so much I ordered two more just to hang onto for future use because I find that products made this well often end up being bought out by some mega-company that turn it into junk but sell at an even higher price as long as they can before word gets out to consumers that the products aren't made like they used to be. I hope that doesn't happen with these timer boxes because they are really well made and worry free unlike other timers that kick the GFI breakers every time it rains. That doesn't happen with this timer. Thank you for making as near perfect an outdoor timer as I have ever seen.

I've had this installed for a couple of weeks. Saved me having to dig in an electrical line and set up an wet in service outlet, plus it has six connections. Worked great, protects plugs from rain. I live on the top of a hill with plenty of wind driven rain. None made it into the plug area. Plenty of room for standard plug and cord. Nice that they are horizontal. Tight if a power transformer were used. Added a waterproof Twist and Seal (a great item also) cord protector to extension cord to BN-Link to seal the deal. I have not tried the timer since small pond pumps are on 24/7. Spike went in to the soil fine, no issues. The insides are dry and the spiders love it. Not spider nor bug proof. What I like about this is that the plug is shielded from the weather. Water always wicks into the other types with the plug exposed to weather and causes shorts in my extension cords. I'll pick up a couple more to run some pipe heater to an outside line and the water trough heater for the winter. This is an inexpensive item that works so far. My only cons are I would like to have 20A instead of 15A and a little more separation between the plugs. Item definitely earns a five star rating.

What is it about manufacturers that insist on making electrical sockets as close as possible? And other manufacturers on making plugs as large as possible? In this unit, it is all too clear. I tried to put a light transformer and an extension plug into this unit. With difficulty, I was finally able to, but those two items together took up all the space of the 6 sockets. And I had to manhandle the door to get it to close. Good point: the depth of the unit is fine and holds an extension cord's plug easily. I do believe I could have fit 3 into the unit with no problem (by alternating them). Other good points are that it has a lock and the openings for the cord exit (there are three) are each on a spring. I thought, as with most electrical units, I would have to use a vise grip to remove the tab. Not so. So I found that very nice. The tabs retract on a spring enough to allow the cord to pass through. However, one "tab" fell off and I had to man-handle the door to the unit to make it close - putting in one extension cord and one light (small transformer, I think all submersible lights have them) taxed the unit's capacity. I could not put 3 extension cords side by side. The plugs are just too large for the proximity of the sockets. Another good/bad point was the unit does have a small plastic foot pad to help drive it into the ground. The good is, it's there. The bad is, it's hardly wider than a toe. All in all I like the unit. It's just not what you'd hope for - it's what you'd expect. The door, when you can close it, does have a lock. The timer seems to keep 24 hours properly. But the cord is only 6' long (if that) and the box is .... small. I really can't speak to the weatherprooof aspect. It is sturdy plastic and I think it will be up to rain and sun, but that's just a guess. It is easy to use, the pins to set on and off time are easy to use - they come as a default in the off (raised) position. And the door is on a spring which encourages it to maintan the closed position.

This will take care of everything in my pond. Lights, pumps and other items. Nice to have the cables all organized and on one timer. As I wanted the lights to be on vs a separate timer I added a cabled timer to one of the six spots so the lights would only come on at night. Works like a charm. Recommended. Arrived quickly. The box was a bit crushed but the item inside was okay

I used this for my Christmas lights last year. It was stored in my shed the rest of the year. I went to use it for Christmas lights this year and it doesn’t work any more. It only worked for 2 months. EDIT: updated to 5 stars. Company promptly responded to my email and is sending a replacement. 5 star customer service and product support.
