Works so far!
So far, it seems to be doing the job through a couple power outages!

Works with large printers
This is a 20A surge protector that must be plugged into a 20A outlet (a 20A outlet has a different plug from a regular outlet) and you can plug two 15A or 20A devices into it. We are using this with a large multifunction printer on a dedicated 20A circuit and its working as expected.

Good product - the on-line description could be better
This is as described, but it's the bits that aren't described that it may be helpful to know about: The input prongs (where you plug this thing into the power supply) are the 20A configuration - i.e. one of the flat pins is at a right angle to the other. That could perhaps be inferred from the 20A rating, but it isn't obvious. I had to go and get an adaptor - no biggie. There is an output socket on both sides of the protector - one has the round pin at the top and the other at the bottom - that's a good and helpful piece of design which is not obvious from the pictures. This has a massive protection rating for a relatively low price. I'm happy I have it.

The best protection from lightning.
Other devices have joule ratings & surge protection ratings. Those are just for surges, not lightning. This device will protect your equipment from lightning. I learned about Panamax & their products when I attended an electric utility convention in Philadelphia. Just get a 20A to 15A adapter to plug into your house. Plug your power strips into this device. I have these for every expensive electrical & electronic device in my house: clothes washer & dryer, microwave, stereo, TV, 2 home offices with various laptops, wifi router & mesh repeaters, & even a dehumidifier. It's rated for 20 amps so you can plug a space heater into it.

Read the fine print before you buy
there is a techical requirement that you have to be 30' from the service panel...that was not apparent in advertising or the lisitng...the requirement was identified in the material provided in the package. I now have to install 15' of conductor on the circuit in order to use it! Usually the less distance and conductor is better...but in this case the manufacturer decided to cut costs and require the consumer to provide the buffer resistance. I can provide the labor and in this instance I have access to splice in the conductor that many others may not have easy access to...this is a significant additional cost.

REALLY NICE FOR BEHIND YOUR ELETRONIC-NO CORDS
Think handy surge protector does exactly what it says - protects against surges for 20A copiers or other sensitive and expensive units. Fits snugly right into the wall with no cords to mess with and the copier cord even goes into the side so you can get it as close to the wall as you need to...no worries about running over or bending the electrical cord. Plug it in and forget about it - my kind of product!

Doesn't fit into standard wall outlet
Be careful before you buy, it will not fit into standard wall outlet. And you will not get a full refund unless it's damaged.

Special Plug
I purchased this surge protector because of the 20 Amp rating. I have a plug-in car and the charger kept tripping off at work when on full-power (about 12 Amps). I purchased this to see if it was surges on the line that caused the charging problem. The device has the special 20 Amp plug with one leg turned 90 degrees from the other. The problem was that I could not directly plug it into due to the hinged cover on the outlet (outside type). It cost me about $40 to build a suitable short extension cord to adapt it. In the end, it turned out not to be a surge problem, but more likely under-voltage due to long line length. None of this is the fault of the device, but be aware of the special 20 Amp plug requirement.
