I have purchased this on Oct 2020, I using it for DIY NAS with custom build Tiny PC and mounted through the USB. this is running 24/7 from past 4 years never had any issues in accessing the data and speed is very good as i have the Bottle neck of 1gbps which is the 1G network adapter. Now planning for purchase the second drive same 6tb, as i would change my HDD for every 4 years to safeguard my data.

cable length was small, also hardisc stop detecting from case after 8year.....so keep your eye on data first...fortunely i had taken another backup..so ....but main hardisc still working ....but directly...as like open hardsic...not as this device.

I bought this 4TB HDD @₹12,999/. The HDD came with a broken seal! It was not opened by breaking the seal itself but below the box there was a forced entry sign. After I checked it on the system it was locked at 35 Mbps transfer speed, then I knew that the drive inside has been changed. Since the original WD CMR drive speed is around 120-200 Mbps. I have shared all the screenshots for you guys to decide! This model of "WD My Book 4TB" comes with a CMR(newer tech/faster) drive as opposed to SMR(older/slower drive) so speed . The firmware version is "Firmware | 01.01A01" which means it's a newer/faster model of CMR drive. But someone swapped it with an older SMR drive. I have also seen similar complaints on youtube etc of people complaining about the slow speeds issue. So this is the reason! I called Amazon customer support and asked for a refund but they took 5 days to insvestigate and after many days I got my refund. To get a refund I had to go through a lot of trouble and a long debate going on for days! I'm Never going to buy anything from Amazon gain! Please refrain from buying any product with broken seals/forced entry from below the box package!! The brand itself is not responsible for such deceptive acts and practices but the sellers are! This results in damaging the brand name along with customer TRUST! We do business based on trust if that's not guaranteed then there's no point in it! !!Amazon must be careful with who they trust with their brand name!!
