All-around awesome
I've seen lots of reviews about QA on these lathes, so I was a little hesitant to buy one. In the end I went with this over the more traditional Revo, and I don't regret it at all. The extra tech features on this are great! It runs quiet and smooth, with plenty of power. I wouldn't mind a bit more weight, but I'll weigh down the legs and that'll be solved pretty easily.I planned ahead and wired up a 220V outlet for it, and had a cord with a plug on it all set to go. It threw me off a bit to see that there's no good way to access the machine end of the power cord, and when they say "plug change", they really do just mean that you change the plug, not the cord. Still, that was easy enough, and I was up and running in no time.

Spindle Wobble, unsafe tool and poor sad non-existent customer support!
I bought this lathe December of 2017 because I had worn out my Jet lathe (used almost daily for three plus years) and wanted something that had the safety features and size of this DVR lathe. Since then, one year later, I have only been able to turn less than a dozen pieces due to a wobble in the headstock. This is a wobble that you can hear, feel and see and any wood turner would be able to know this immediately. I requested support. They told me to ship it to them to diagnose. So, at my own expense, I sent back the headstock, perfectly packed up in a crate I designed for the piece, wrapped in plastic, stuffed full of Styrofoam keep it safe during the travels from NY to FL. They get it and several weeks later, tell me there is nothing wrong with this headstock, "Lady" and that it is within spec. So, either their technicians don't know anything about turning wood, or their lathe is junk if a wobble in the spindle is within spec. I turn wood for a living. It is my job, my passion and my business. It is my only source of income. And for the last 6 months, I have been fighting to get a lathe in my shop that is safe and there has been very little help. So, because their technicians felt there was nothing wrong with my headstock, they sent it back, thrown haphazardly into the crate I made, with minimal protection and the nose got chipped up, the locking knob bent, and the spindle banged against the side of the crate all the way back to me here in NY. So now my lathe is in worse shape than it was before I sent it to them. So, just as you might guess, I am not only mortified at how they mis-treated my lathe and damaged it but I still don't have a lathe that works due to a wobble in the headstock. They then send me a set of bearings that I practically had to beg for so that I can replace them myself. Taking up much more of my time. Additionally, The wobble of the spindle, causing the wood to not be able to be trued up, also causes the carbide tips of my turning tools to become loose due to the constant repeated hits. Also not safe.I replaced the bearings, but gee whiz, still a wobble. So it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that spindle MUST be bent. Still unable to have my tools touch the wood 100% of the time in a revolution so therefore, I still have a lathe that I am not able to work on due to an UNSAFE TO USE LATHE. I have videos of the wobble of this lathe where you can easily see the spindle must be bent and I have posted these videos on YouTube to save someone else from buying an unsafe tool that is not backed or supported by the company. And now Customer Service won’t even reach out to me after several weeks of attempting to contact them for help to resolve this issue. Nothing. Zilch. Crickets. I have requested for them to pick up this junk and give me my money back. I have requested for them to replace the headstock if they won't give me my money back. No word. Nothing. At this point they won't even respond to my service requests in the support tool online.I seriously regret buying this lathe after doing my extended research and thinking I was buying the best lathe out there in wood turning world. Very saddened by this and to still be battling to hear my voice heard about how this lathe is unsafe and unusable. I cry every time I see it in my shop, and have only been able to use it as a table to hold the wood blanks I have created to use on my old Jet lathe with its worn out motor as for now, I cannot invest in another lathe. I just want my issue resolved. I have lost so much money on buying this unsafe product, then having to pay to ship it, time lost by having to replace bearings myself, to then having them poorly package it, the poor thing gets damaged on the way back to me, many many lost hours, days months and a year of not being able to produce decent work. I have lost many thousands of dollars in expense, lost production, lost time, lost income, lost customers, lost faith in this company. Now I am losing more time in having to report this to the Attorney Generals offices, Better Business, Consumer Reports. This is an UNSAFE tool. Tools are meant to be safe and usable. Fix it or take it back is all that I ask.A lathe is the most important tool that I need to use every day for my business and my art and we all need our woodworking tools to be safe. Maybe Teknatools thinks this lathe is within spec, and if that is the case, then that spec is just not fit or safe enough to be in my shop and it shouldn't be in yours either. What a huge disappointment and loss for me.I was not paid to review this product, in fact I paid out many many many thousands of dollars to be able to write this review. Save yourself money, time and disappointment and buy from a company than stands by its products.

Not the worst or the best
From the day I got it assembled it has had some vibration. I am not using this lathe to make a living thank goodness, it will turn wood although as stated by another it is easy to tell from the vibration that things are not well put together. It is a little scary to run it at high rpms.I do still use it but for me it is almost entirely for hobby work and gifts but if I were going to turn more or really want things to be perfect, I would sell this lathe and get either a Robust or something more professional turners use. This lathe works if you just want it for hobby work.I would not recommend this brand of lathe to anyone.

Just about impossible ti fix
Actually the lathe is excellent. I have had three name brand lathes previous to this one and it exceeds all of them when running. However, the motherboard went out on mine. I am currently trying to have fixed- not much if any support from Teknatool in China. Would like to get fixed as I like it when running but am now thinking fix will not happen. Therefore looking at Robust & Powermatic.

Fantastic lathe!
An incredible machine for the price. Only a small complaint. It would be nice if the remote receiver were factory installed and tested. My lathe is not recognizing the receiver I purchased.
