Great pastels, but not perfect
There are many reviews on line for these pastels, so I was eager to try them.The pricing is very fair given that you get 48 full size square sticks.They are soft, but a little more crumbly than creamy, so if you're hoping for a cheap Sennelier, this isn't it. They go down well though, blending and layering well on good quality papers.The colour selection is very vivid and includes some, quite frankly, excessively vivid colours - 'fluorescent' colours should be reserved for special sets.However the majority of pastels are good. There are some vivid pinks, reds and oranges along with some fantastic turquoises, and there are even some flesh tones which are very welcome.Are these a stand alone solution? I don't think so. There aren't enough muted colours, so it would be better to use these in conjunction with a set of Faber Castell soft pastels or maybe a Jackson Arts selection which have some great muted colours just to make sure you have most eventualities covered.Overall, I'd certainly buy these again. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, these should have a place in your pastel box.
