Great mobile microphone
An excellent microphone to use mobile, the noise cancelling feature very effective, however allowing nice clear audio to be heard we'll.Amplifier level works just fine set around 1/3 up on slide scale.

Installation of battery
Murder getting the screws out to put battery in. There really tight. Be careful and patient or you will knacker them. Maker should rethink another method.

Plastic feels cheap and brittle, not the same as an Astatic from back in the day.
Whilst the price of new Astatic microphones isn't exorbitant, the quality of them really doesn't match up to the Astatic products of yesteryear. The plastic feels cheap and looks brittle and the weight of the whole microphone including battery seems too light. I know times move on and costs play a part but there really is no excuse for not being able to quality match nowadays. Personally i bought this because i had a Teardrop back in the day and yes it's the same shape but overall the construction is cheap. That said the sound quality is pretty good, but i'd rather pay more and get the build quality of old.

Terrible battery fit
Sadly can't give more than a three. Looks good, sounds good, but an ábsolute nightmare to fit the battery.
