Practical book to have and apply in life.
I personally enjoy the practicality. The book is quick to understand no sales language on convincing you the same verbiage from prior pages like in other books. This book goes to the point and it’s quick to read.

they seemed to attack it like a diet book
I was looking for a PCOS "bible" and this is it. I've bought several books on PCOS and instead of looking at the whole disease, it's symptoms, and looking at it from a whole-you perspective, they seemed to attack it like a diet book. I was very frustrated with these other books. This one is great. It's smart and gentle in its approach. It helps you understand the why's of the disease and look at eliminating or reducing the symptoms from a gradual, gentle position. It is very thorough and looks at all the aspects of the disease. I'm not trying to get pregnant but just lose some weight and not feel so nuts all the time. 😀 this book isn't just about getting pregnant. It addresses diet, supplements and mindset. It's my new bible.

This book is great. It really teaches you about what PCOS is and how it affects your body. The author talks about food you should avoid and food you should eat if you have PCOS. Not only does she talk about that, but she talks about WHY we should avoid/eat it. There is also a vitamins/supplements/herbal section where she recommends things we should be taking to help eliminate PCOS. I will say, if you are serious about trying to control PCOS, it is a book you need to get! I have only been following her diet plan/vitamin regimen for a few weeks and already feel better.

Good
It approaches pcos from an integral perspective. The only thing that I think is missing is how to follow up the treatment that she suggests.

Review
The book is interesting, I am glad that I was able to find something that was different than what I could google

Too much repetition
Too much repetition. The author must've mentioned the same facts over and over in each chapter about a dozen times throughout the book. I didn't find anything useful that I have not already discovered online.

Motivational
This is a very informational book on PCOS. It motivated me to take action and take better care of myself, naturally! I am waiting on my supplements to arrive to begin a new treatment process!

If you've got PCOS and IR get the damn book.
I have had PCOS for the past 13 years, I love Dr Mariyn Glenville, she doesn't make you feel useless for not losing weight like the Drs do at my practice, she seems to understand exactly what you'll be feeling and facing and it is a refreshing thing to read. I had watched her 2 hour long youtube vid on PCOS (a videod class) and that was informative enough (far more info than any Dr had given me all my life) but this book has been a Godsend. In fact my best friend of 22 years just got diagnosed with PCOS and I made her go home with it, she has put it on her instagram (Ylimesalad_Slimmingworld) as I have told her it's the easiest thing I have read to explain PCOS and what to do as a PCOS sufferer yet. I have also bought the same book for my mother. It is so easy to understand and it is the first time I have been given real ideas on what carbs I can eat, what I cant eat, how my body works with sugar and fats etc. She even gives a list of foods I can eat freely and which ones to curb or stay away from. It also includes info for people who want to take the drug/medication root OR the natural remedies root (and no judging either - you do you honey) it lists all of them and explains what they help with and what side effects may be. It gives advice for what kind of exercise you will see the most benefit from as a PCOS sufferer (no not just any old cardio or weights routine will do with IR and PCOS) and even gives tips on how to start. It gives advice for fertility issues, acne, Hirtuism etc.It isn't long winded either (like this review) it is easy to understand bites and has been the only book on PCOS I have ever read that actually put a smile on my face and made me feel like maybe I can turn it around. The rest either go too deep for my understanding or don't give enough examples for diet and exercise so I have no clue where to start. If you have PCOS get it.

Helps you have a proper conversation with your Dr!
I have only got three quarters of the way through this book but to be honest its the best book I have read on the subject. I particularly like the way it discusses the pro's and cons of conventional treatment so that you can make informed choices about your management programme. It does go to show that pharmaceuticals aren't the panacea that they are made out to be. While they have their place for many conditions they only manage symptoms and in some cases make problems worse (or cause other problems you weren't banking on!). Lifestyle change is the best way of dealing with this problem, and as my gp said, 'diet and exercise can reduce your chances of getting type 2 diabetes by 70%, there's no pill on the market that does that'.This book is very empowering and makes good reading. BUT, the onus is on you as the sufferer to take your problem by the balls and make the changes you need to make to reap the benefits, you can't just take a pill and keep up with the bad habits that triggered the problem. I used to love a number of things that make my condition worse (and probably triggered it), but I've just had to get over it and give them up and it's the best decision I've ever made because this condition impacts on every aspect of a woman's identity and it's truly miserable. Thanks for a great book.

Really great and truthful book!
This book helped me so much! When I learnt I had this condition I was left depressed. I put on so much weight within few months, I went from being underweight to being overweight with a blink of an eye, until I finally found out what was the problem. The thing about this book is that it gives you an amazing ways of how to deal with it and I must say I agree with the author on everything! How to loose a weight- eating and exercises. It is different to what you normally hear, but its actually right! The low fat diets are not working, neither are cardio exercises if you want to loose weight and keep it up for a long period of time, finally someone put it in the book! After I read it I felt hope and I felt happy, like I can do this, I can live without PCOS! So I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with this horrible condition!

like many books/blogs/articles
Very comprehensive book, which talks through roots causes as well as possible solutions. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is, as a slim person with PCOS, I wasn't able to take an awful lot from the book that I didnt already know as, like many books/blogs/articles, there is a big focus on changes to maintain a healthy weight and support a more active and well rounded lifestyle. Nevertheless, still a very good book to refer back to and I will be trying the few options that do apply to me.
