Was so funny at Christmas to have my brother open this and see how confused he was. It held money well and looked and felt very realistic, the only downside is the bulb was difficult to open which made it difficult for intended use.

Yes at first I had a hard time opening it, I even reviewed the comments to try to find options or to know if I received a defective one, but I saw that everyone was complaining about it, so I thought... return it!!! But someone put that they used the tip of a knife to open it, so I thought it would not open by twisting it, it has to pop, so I kept it tight from the top (glove side) and I press it to the side, like opening a coke, the bottle glass!

Like so many others, I was unable to open the “light bulb”. It would not unscrew, and I couldn’t see how I could twist it or tweak it to get it to pop off. I read another review on here where they said to take a very thin blade and inserted it between the bulb and the body then twist. They stated that it then popped off. I’m disappointed. Why should we pay upwards of eight dollars for something that does not come with any instructions and should probably have a selling price of $.98 or $1.98. Not $7.99. Unable to open it, I put it aside and planned on getting back to it and when I did, I realized that the window was closed for returns. Anybody wanna buy a lightbulb safe? If you can get it to work, it would be nifty! The quality is poor and the functionality is severely lacking. What is it? Do these manufacturers over there think that we just want junk? Maybe we do if we keep buying it. The idea has merit, but the execution is poor. And I’m a dummy because I didn’t return it.!

Yes hard to open, but that may help keep it more secure. not going to open it very often. ---- BUT ------ WARNING ----- ----BE CAREFUL---- THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS IN THE LIGHT SOCKET PART ARE LIVE. IF YOU PUT SOME THING CONDUCTIVE IN IT(JEWLERY, ETC) IT COULD SHORT OUT OR START FIRE. PUT SOME ELECTRICAL TAPE IN THE BOTTOM....

Like others, I struggled to open this safe. I twisted and turned with no luck. Thought I was going to break it. At first I dabbed a fingernail in kitchen oil and ran it in the seam. No help. Then I dabbed a super thin ginsu knife blade in the oil and ran it along the seam. I continued to twist and turn convinced I’d soon break it. 🤔💡!!!! <( pun intended) It dawned on me that it was not a twist opening…but a pop off. Stuck that thin blade in it, twisted it slightly and it easily popped off. For good measure, I filed down the plastic rim a tiny bit with an emery board to help loosen the fit. You still have to use a knife or razor-thin, tiny, flat screw driver but now it quickly pops off. NOW I can give it as a travel gift as it was originally intended. Whew! There might be instructions to help with this, but I’m a born problem solver and I prefer to test those skills before I read for help. Rest assured, it can be opened without breaking it.

It is not easy to open which is not a bad thing. You need to snap off the top. Just bend it at the seam between the white top and bottom parts, on the harder side. It should snap open.
