Does it fit Volvo s70

I doubt it but mostly it depends on what year your S70 is and what motor it has. The easiest thing to do is go to Rock Auto onlone and at least get the part number for the filter. You can then cross reference it.

Are these the original style fine fluted top with the correct bypass or the new style non bypass conterfeit units?

I haven't purchased any recently but the ones that I bought were original type Motorcraft for Ford products. Buying the Motorcraft is your best chance of getting original style. You can send an e-mail to Motorcraft and question that particular subject just to see what their response is.

I brought two of these oil filters one for my brothers 1997 Ford Fairmont and one for my 1993 Fairmont one of the filters was fine the other one had a dent in the top of it like its been thrown around don't know if I should buy anymore now
