I researched watch winders for quite some time before coming across Barrington and their product range. I found with the cheaper winders, and their seemingly more palatable price, you will likely trade away some features/benefits......such as CLEARLY adjustable turns per day (TPD) settings, near-silent operation, quality of finished product, or a warranty from a reliable Western company, together with EXCELLENT customer service.The Barrington is extremely well made, with a beautiful green-glossy piano finish on my example. It does not operate silently, but the sound you hear is VERY quiet (from about 2-2.5 feet away - bed to nightstand where the winder sits - I measured around 33 dBA with an SPL meter - which is around the background level of my bedroom).There is an unobtrusive green flashing light when the actual winding is taking place (there are rest periods). The watch "pillow" is brilliantly simple and easy to use assuming you are using an average mens' sized watch. Just close the strap as if your wrist is large, click-down the "foot" on the back of the pillow, which holds it in place so you can work your watch onto the pillow assembly and center it up. Then, press on the "foot" again, and it will release under spring tension and press straight out and back against the strap with adequate (but not excessive) force to keep the watch centered on the pillow. The pillow itself is held in the winder with two notches on the rotating carrier, and that easily engage/disengage the pillow with a slight squeeze on the pillows "ears." I bought a second Barrington winder in white for my wife, and her watch uses the "FLEX" pillow - which is a firm, dense foam that is used for smaller strap diameters. Works the same, holds the same - just squeeze down the foam and place your watch on the pillow before releasing the foam against the closed strap.Of note during my research of watch winders, the ease in ACTUAL TPD adjustments were especially important to me. From what I've learned, it is important to not overwind and prematurely wear the sliding mainspring bridle in the barrel - I'd rather not replace those parts at service, and the Barrington makes it easy to set the appropriate TPD for any watch to prevent overwinding (research online or contacting the manufacturer of your watch gives the recommended TPD).It seems many cheaper winders DO correctly allow selection of single, or bi-directional rotation, but they lack a clear and easy setting for TPD, or they have excessive TPD modes instead of intermediate TPD modes which could be useful for some watches. You can do math to figure it out (not difficult but inconvenient when different "programs" in cheaper winders are not clearly marked)...….or I had seen some folks buy a smart plug and use it to "program" in the activity of a cheaper winder to achieve a certain TPD......not necessary with the Barrington and its clear rotation direction and TPD knobs - especially convenient if you rotate between watches and want to use the winder while you rediscover a safe-queen with different TPD requirements that you haven't worn for a while.In whole, the Barrington single-winder range gives you a wide choice of colors to satisfy quirk or room decor, beautiful finishing and quality, near silent/unobtrusive operation, choice of optimal "pillow" for your watch(es), easy and secure mounting/dismounting of the pillow, easy to use directional and TPD setting knobs, the ability to "daisy-chain" additional winders on a single AC adaptor as needed, and stellar customer service (I needed the Flex pillow for my wife's watch, and it was a pleasure to interact with Barrington Customer Service).The price is a little more, but worth the quality and features if you're trying to take care of a nicer watch(es). Don't spend money on this Barrington for your only watch, a Seiko5....but if you have a few to several nice Swiss watches or nicer Seikos, they can take turns on this winder (or several daisy-chained together) as you enjoy wearing your collection.

The Barrington 1 Watch winder is just the right product for a category that is both niche-y and chaotic.The range of quality and price for watch winders is staggering. In the e-commerce age, it is also a daunting task to select and purchase such a niche product without seeing it in action first. This is not like a high-end camera or lens, and there are few sites devoted to reviews and few shops where you can go and look at one.I had an old Sharper Image battery-driven winder that finally died and faced a difficult choice. Many winders either look like grand-dad's cigar box (stuffy), or have no inherent style (form follows function). Prices are also strangely variable. Also, if you want to try a manufacturer, it is hard to buy a 1 Watch winder if you think you might want to get a multi-watch winder. Going all in on a big winder is risky - what if the more expensive winder gives up the ghost? Are all the slots dead? There seemed to be no clean and elegant solutions out there.I am delighted to find that the Barrington 1-Watch is just such a solution. It is a 1-Watch winder of solid engineering that is made from lovely materials and is finished well. Their solution which allows one to piggy-back the power chord (or battery power) across multiple winders is clever. The colors and finishes are just great. The winder is pleasant to look at, silent and offers a range of settings that should work for just about any automatic movement.I bought the Burnt Umber (Orange) unit. It looks great wherever you sit it. I tried it for a few weeks and now I've gotten a red one also. I plan to get a Yellow one when that color is back in stock.Some clever folks really thought this through. They made a product for a home watch enthusiast who wants to get started with Watch Winders and has the ability to grow with it. I feel good about my purchase and won't hesitate to buy from this manufacturer again.

My search for the right watch winder for me is over, after I bought this Barrington winder. Actually I bought 4 of them.My favorite part of these watch winders is the flexibility to daisy chain them together, allowing you to only use 1 wall outlet regardless of whether you have 1, 2 or 4. They come with an additional cable to send the power out from one unit to another, no additional purchase necessary. This flexibility also means that if 1 of the 4 were to fail, that single unit could be replaced, instead of the whole unit.The winders are very quiet, such that the 4 of them I have are on my night stand and aren't a bother at all when sleeping. No, it isn't as quiet as my Wolf, but depending on the Wolf model you're looking at these are half the price. Especially if you start considering 4 watch winders.The winder is stylish in a modern sense; simple, clean and in a number of different colors.

Works great and it’s quiet. Keeps watch wound without over winding it. I chose the dark green colour which is very nice. Very pleased with the purchase! Highly recommend this winder.

Der Motor ist hörbar, aber nicht unangenehm.Leider hat das Gerät nach zwei Tagen seinen Dienst quittiert - deshalb ging es direkt retour.

More than happy with my Barrington watch winder. Silent, high quality and beautiful winder. I really like the battery option, making it portable and much easier to place anywhere.

I bought the Barrington watch winder in July 2022 for my husband. After some research I chose Barrington watch winder for his automatic watch. The winder works perfectly well, is very stylish and the motor is very silent. The packaging was also excellent. My husband is very happy with the winder. It appears that I made the right choice.

The product is compact and very nice to look at whilst also being very robust and of quality build quality. I have no experience of other watch winders but this one is very easy to use, silent (almost impossible to hear) and I am very pleased with it. Furthermore it is very flexible with various setting available in terms of direction and RPD to suit all watches. The mounting cushion is also easy to use and protects the watch well. I would also like to highlight the after sales service - I had to swap the supplied mounting cushion as it was too large for my watches (I have a relatively small wrist) and I, therefore, contacted Barrington after sales service. They were fantastic to deal with and replied immediately and replaced the cushion without cost, which I received within 48 hours, brilliant service. In summary, a fantastic well priced product for the quality and excellent after sales service, would highly recommend the product and business generally
