Perfect for a toddler and very well made!

This has been such a hit with my two year old. We primarily use it outside at parks or on trails, but it has even helped to occupy him while waiting in a doctor's office. It's the perfect size and shape for chubby little fingers, so much easier to hold onto than a traditionally shaped magnifying glass. Ours has gotten wet with no issues. I took the tethers off because I thought they would just get in the way, but I suppose they might be helpful for an older kid. The whistle works great.

I am happy with this item it is as advertised. However I would suggest you take care to protect the lens from hard objects. Unsurprisingly the lens got scratched because it was in the same bag as a rock.

The media could not be loaded.  This is so useful for my 2.5 yr old daughter. She’s always getting this kit if she sees insects crawling on our window. She would use the whistle to get the attention of the bug (as if the bug would pay attention to it 😂) then will use the magnifying to observe it. Great product!!

Our little explorer got these for his birthday. He loves them. They're very well made, and perfectly sized for young children's hands and coordination level. However, our 10 and 12 year old kids are often found borrowing them too. :) Great gifts. Great brand.

These are perfect for packing with my kids when we go hiking! They love having the magnifier to look at bugs and rock formations. The whistles are mainly for emergency use for us.

Purchased to accompany the explorer's vest I got for my granddaughter. The whistle and magnifying glass were the same great quality I've grown to expect from Hape products. Highly recommend.

The product arrived severally damaged. My son has not and will not get a chance to play with this. Three of the four sides of the magnifying glass are broken. Two came broken(completely unattached and one was splitting and broke when I took the rubber encasement off). I literally got the package today it came like this. I got a splinter from this(not a big deal) but I would worry more about my child playing with this and sticking it so close to their face.

We’re very happy with these. The whistle is not too loud so it’s not annoying for the kids to play with. The magnifying glass has a rubbery edge which seems to protect it from the inevitable drops and falls!

Our little one loves these toys. Our little person often takes them on neighbourhood expeditions to explore flowers and bugs and just generally announce that a tiny human is out and about.
