Vida IT VP5
Small and compact. Not had it long and working well. I am not using this device to charge phones or tablets only devices that need charging via USB.

Good usb port, but doesn't fast charge as promised.
It's a decent charging port, and can charge multiple devices. Its a decent size and fits on my night stand. However it doesn't support fast charge like it promises too. I used a fast charge cable but it still charges at regular speed. I only use it for overnight charging so does the job for me, but if fast charging is essential, this product isn't for you. If it did fast charge, would have given 5 stars.

Dangerous
When I plug anything into it it pushes the insides out of the back and exposes all of the electrical stuff inside. Im a bit scared to use it incase I get electrocuted. Can’t return it apparently, return window closed, I bought it in September, it’s now mid October. I was kindly refunded.

Fast charging compact USB mains charger
Note: The maker supplied a review sample for evaluation, the opinion of the product is my own personal view Included in this kit is a longer mains power lead (figure of 8 connection with a length of 1.5 metres), a 51cm micro USB cable is also supplied - it's quite a thick one and should hold up to rough handling better than the standard cables. Basic instructions are also included. The unit is pretty small at 9cm x 5.5cm with a thickness of 2.5cm and with a soft touch effect across most of it. Spread across five USB ports it a total of 8 amps power output, that means even with all ports being used and pulling power you can get a maximum of 1.6 amps per port. Charging speeds of 1.5 amps and over is considered quick, though in reality few phones reach that level, some tablets can with larger capacity cells. The actual speed will vary depending on what you are charging, heavily drained batteries pull more power than part charged ones. No issues to report during use this works just as well as other units I have tested. Almost all USB devices can regulate their own power output (ie they won't over charge), as a back up this has it's own IC chip to control voltage and prevent short circuits. These can be used not just for phones or tablets but any other USB device that can be charged such as MP3 players, e-cigarette batteries and smaller items. I like the small size, good build quality and high output across all ports. There are units around with even more ports, but for most families I think five is plenty, and much more convenient to have a single charger than multiple single ones. Nice to see the inclusion of a micro USB cable, granted Apple users will want their own cable - most chargers don't come with anything other than the mains lead. There are no LED lights on this which avoids the annoying light effect if you use this at night or close to a bed. Good stuff.
