CreativeCedarDesigns 6.6' Octagon Sandbox, Kids Sandbox

Seems durable, is priced fair at under $85, and is a great size for our 5 kids. We bought this to replace a Step2 crab sandbox which has had much love yet held up perfectly since our first child, but is super cramped with more than a couple of kids. This sandbox is a wonderful replacement - not too huge for our tiny yard, but large enough that my five kids between 5 months - 9 years of age can all play in it at one time without it being too overly crowded. We put in 20 bags of play sand, and will keep about 4 on hand to refill periodically.

Extremely quick shipment, surprised by how small the box was and was skeptical until we assembled and set the sandbox up. It took a lot more sand than the 10-50# bags they recommended, we put in 20 bags and it is perfect. My grand-kids just love it and spend hours in it. We put a beach ball under the cover to tent it and lets the water run off and it works just fine. My only complaint is it should be made out of 2" thick wood versus 1" thick.

We looked around at various options for sandboxes - noting that we needed one large enough for 2 toddlers (twins); this seemed one of the few decent affordable ones - and it's now been 3 weeks since I assembled ours, and so far things have been fine. They're pretty easy to assemble (if you have some basic handyman skills, e.g. I nailed the black mat to the bottom of the frame, which wasn't part of the assembly recommendation but was a smart thing to do); seem to be decent material (e.g. the canvas cover which comes with this seems to be decent quality), and overall has served its purpose.

I added another layer of sealant/water repellent because I saw previous reviews saying it didn’t hold up and so now I feel it is completely water resistant. My one complaint is that the cover is not great comes off easily and lets water in a lot but not that big a deal Because the kids like it wet to make sand castles. However the cover gathers water and it’s annoying and you need to have two people to maneuver the cover to remove the water without dumping it all into the sandbox. It’s big enough for at least 2seven year olds a six year old and a 2 year old to play all at the same time!

Pros:-Large enough to fit 3-5 kids at a time-Price point is reasonable-Easy to assembleCons:-8 of the 12 main boards used to build were completely broken. (I Gorilla glued them back together because I’m too impatient to wait another 2-3 weeks to exchange this. Hoping they hold)-The cover doesn’t fit super snug and blows off if you live in a windy area

Good product. We were first sent the wrong item but we worked things out. Assembly was easy but as I was nearing the end of assembling the sand box one of the boards wouldn’t slide into place. It wasn’t cut in the right place. I contacted the company and asked for a new board but they don’t send individual boards. They said we’d have to send the sand box back and they would send us a new one. I didn’t want to go through all that hassle so my husband sawed a new notch in the board and then we were good to go.The cover for the sand box didn’t last long. We just keep ours uncovered but you could just use a tarp and secure it around the base of the sand box and be just fine.We love the size of the sand box. It fits 4 or 5 kids comfortably.

My daughters love this sandbox! Didn't take my husband long to put together. He did say that some of the screws we're to short and had to use longer screws. He thinks that it is a little flimsy but we will see how it lasts for the summer. I'm glad I read another review because it calls for 10 50 pound bags of sand but the review said they did 20 bags and that is what we did and it is perfect. But my girls are very happy so far

Very disappointed that out of 12 boards, 6 were completely broken or hanging on by a single wood fiber. This damage was not due to the mailing process. Planning to return it for (hopefully) another set...but not broken.
