I have a ruby 36 by trigger and the cups were a little loose. So my husband cut the rings off a couple of old filter socks and put the rings around the top of the filter cup and it fits nice and snug now.

"Best" is 100% subjective based on the inhabitants of the tank and what you're doing. I use ChemiPure Elite or Blue (1 bag in as I've found two clogs it up).

Q: Will this replace 2.75 filter socks on waterbox aio???

No - this is a 4" media cup designed to replace 4" filter socks. I have it on my 100.3 waterbox. I am not sure if RedSea makes a 2.75" media cup.
