100% Worth it.
This is my second time buying a Dingbats journal, so i decided it was about time i reviewed it. This journal is the most versatile and beautiful thing i’ve ever owned. The paper quality is amazing. the details of the back pocket to the dotted line in every page to tear out easily. I’ve seen a couple reviews saying the pen holder broke; i take my journal with me to school everyday and somewhat abuse the penholder and i have yet to experience any issues. The paper is smooth and has a nice offwhite color to it. the hardcovers are durable and have a nice leathery texture to them too. Its a pretty normal weight for a journal too, i wouldnt say too heavy or too light. the only “negative” thing i could say about this journal is that i as a left handed person would avoid pens like G2s while using it, because the smudging can get pretty bad. With this paper ive used basic Bic style pens for a better look, micron pens work too since the paper hardly ever bleeds (it can even withstand watercolor) . i use these journals for my yearly planner, theres definitely more than enough paper in these as well. i thought id run out of space but even now as my whole 2023 planner is complete, i still have 20-30 pages left that i feel bad for not being able to use😭.All in all, this journal is WORTH 20 dollars. Its the perfect size, has important key details, and its environmentally safe!! 10/10 journal, never switching brands.

Beautiful, functional, timeless
Easily my favorite journal that I've purchased (so far!) The leather cover has a nice tactile feel and seems fairly well made. I got the lined option with the slightly yellowed pages, which I think adds well to the overall experience. I use a Lamy Safari F-tip pen and Lamy cartridges. No bleeding or feathering.

Great for bullet journaling!
I am an avid journaler and go through an average of four journals a year. Since I started with the bullet journal system, I have used Moleskine and then Leuchtturm notebooks. I debated for a long time about whether to give this notebook a shot, and I’m very glad I did.Bottom line: I am converted to Dingbats brand and will re-order the next time I need a new notebook.Pros:1. The paper quality is superb. Better than both Leuchtturm and Moleskine. It’s thicker and smoother. Great for fountain pens. No ghosting or bleed-through. And no feathering with my Lamy Al-Star pen.2. It is slightly larger than both the Moleskine Large notebook and the Leuchtturm Medium (A5). I like that you have a bit more room on the page, but it is still small enough to fit in my purse— Important because I carry it with me everywhere.3. I love the square grid.4. Unlike Leuchtturm, there aren’t margins at the top and bottom. The grid covers the whole page, which gives more flexibility for different spreads and layouts.5. The cover is a great color and texture and seems to be more durable than than hardcover Moleskine and Leuchtturm notebooks. The elastic that holds the book shut is very sturdy.6. It comes with a pen loop hardwired into the notebook cover! This is a big deal for me. I was starting to resent Leuchtturm for making me spend $5-8 on a stupid pen loop every time I spent $20 on a new notebook. For $20, a notebook should come with a pen loop and this one does! The pen loop is sturdy but stretchy so I think it would fit pretty much any size pen. It easily accommodates my Lamy Al-Star, which is pretty fat.6. It has the same back cover pocket as Leuchtturm and Moleskin. And one ribbon bookmark.7. I like that it is (allegedly) environmentally friendly and that the company is family owned.8. All of the pages are perforated for easy and neat removal.Cons:1. No pages set aside at the front for an index. This isn’t a huge deal for me, but it is a nice feature of the Leuchtturm.2. Pages are not pre-numbered. Again, not a huge deal, but a nice feature of the Leuchtturm.3. The square grid lines are a bit darker and more prominent than in the Leuchtturm and Moleskine, but I find they still fade away once you write over them.4. The increase in paper, size, and cover quality makes it a bit heavier than the Leuchtturm and Moleskine, I think. But it also has fewer pages (though the surface area of the pages is significantly larger) than the Leuchtturm, so it may be a wash.5. I like that the Leuchtturm comes with stickers and spine engineering that make it easy to label for archiving. This notebook does not have that feature. I’ll probably just end up labeling the spine with a sharpie when I’m finished with it.

Best Customer Service I've Ever Encountered
First and foremost, I want to say that Mo and the people at Dingbats went WAY WAY WAY above and beyond to resolve the problems I encountered with my order. They stand by their product and go out of their way to make sure you're happy with your purchase. I've never had such a positive experience as a retail customer in my entire life. I'm still shocked by their customer service.Paper: The paper is 100gsm, coated and cream colored. It is SO silky smooth to write on. Every pen glides like a dream. As expected, you have to make sure you give the ink time to dry before you close the book or move on to the next page but it's a small price to pay for such a luxurious writing experience. The dots are of medium visibility with the standard 5mm spacing.I purchased the Wildlife line because every page is perforated. I had issues with the first notebook I received but once I had an undamaged notebook in my hands, I was so impressed with the perforations. The pages won't fall out with regular use or even a mild tug. However, if you take care not to just YANK the page out, it will tear away neatly.Ghosting is minimal; about on par for what I would expect with 100gsm paper. Nothing bled through, not even fountain pen ink.Design and Construction: The Wildlife notebooks are not numbered and do not have an index page (these are pluses for me.) They DO have a cover page where you can write your name and information as well as a back pocket. One ribbon bookmark is built in, as is a pen loop. The pen loop is sturdy and I'm not worried about losing any pens. Additionally, the elastic included to keep the notebook closed is also sturdy - nice and tight without being inflexible. The journal lies very very flat. The cover is a wonderfully pebbly faux leather. I LOVE the cute paw print paper on the inside covers. The print is dependent on what animal you get (bear paws / elephant feet / duck feet.) It's such a fun touch. As long as you're expecting to get what you see in the description, you'll get it. There are no what-ifs or cons here. You get what they advertise and what they advertise is a lovely notebook that will get lots of use.Caveats: The first notebook I received had an issue with the binding, which came apart when I tried to use the perforations to take out a page. It was disappointing, and I contacted Dingbats hoping for a resolution. They sent out a replacement VERY promptly. The Amazon warehouse seems to have had issues handling the replacement and it arrived with quite a few dings and dents. I did NOT expect Dingbats to be responsible for this as it was 100% not their fault. They did so anyway. I can't rave enough about how much they cared that I was happy with my notebook.

Don't like micro perforations for Bullet Journaling
The item is as described, and nicely made. The cover has a lovely texture, and the paper holds up well to fountain pen ink.Unfortunately for me, I hadn't really thought this purchase through properly. I am using this journal for Bullet Journaling - which involves a fair amount of flipping back and forth, consulting different sections in the journal. And, quite simply: the micro perforations are freaking me out. None of them has actually started to detach, but they form a weak point on each page, and my anxiety-brain keeps insisting that it's only a matter of time before they start to let go.Secondary gripe: the pages are not pre-numbered. With ADHD, I don't trust myself to consistently number pages as I go, so I paginated them before starting to use the journal. Also, from a commitment to the aesthetic, I'm sticking to fountain pens... But because the ink needs to dry, that meant that paginating the whole thing took much longer than the time required to simply write the numerals. I spent most of the time literally waiting for ink to dry.So: the journal is a 5-star item that did not suit my purposes. It is a lovely piece of kit - and if you want to be able to cleanly remove pages (and have them remain surprisingly durable attached when you're not removing them, despite what my anxieties keep suggesting), and don't want the pages pre-paginated (because you might be removing pages...), then this might be your perfect item! This journal is very well made and well suited to purposes other than my own.EDIT: more than 2/3rds of the way through, and all pages are still intact. No indication that I will run into trouble with unintentional tearing. I still feel anxious about it (anxiety: yay!). However, if you are looking for the option of cleanly removing pages - or NOT removing pages in normal use, this journal seems very well designed for that!

Excelente cuaderno!
