not suitable returned for refund
this model is meant to be suitable for 3 years to 18 years - this is totally not true. The pieces are very tiny and a lot of them have to be cut - ( eg. for the round towers. )

the fourth castle I've purchased
i love these. the only small issue I have is that the directions are not in words, but pictures. I realize these models are sold all over the world. I end up sort of re-doing the castles to be creative.

Keep An Open Mind
I found that the building of this castle required the following: 1) Patience 2) Creativity 3) Locating additional parts 4) Determining what tools to use and experimenting with them 5) A great deal of time.PATIENCE: While the instructons are good there is a lot missing from them. You will find that you have to study them repeatedly and, occasionally, take your best shot at interpreting them. Sometimes the instructions oversimplify a process and you have to figure it out on your own.UPDATE OCTOBER 2023: Woe is you if you attempt to contact AERES for support in any way. First of all they typically don't respond. Amazon has run out of the 300 piece ceramic bricks and you will need these to finish this castle. Think long and hard before you purchase a model set from them because the materials provided are inadequate. Many of the tiles are broken and misshaped and unusable. After many emails to AERES requesting how to purchase the tiles directly (it took several requests) this guy Dani finally attempts to answer my questions and, accidentally, copies me on an email he sends to some seperate business and makes indiscreet statements about me in essence saying to get this guy off my back. Rating changed from 4 stars to 2 stars accordingly. Obviously, I will no longer purchase any of their products.CREATIVITY: Be careful with how much glue you use since the cardboard absorbs excess glue and will warp if you are not careful. Also, expect some casualties when cutting bricks and tiles...especially when trying to cut little pieces. How you choose to cut many of the pieces is totally up to you and it can be a very frustrating process. It may sound crazy but the moat surrounding the castle is not blue but moat colored using browns, greens, some blue, some gray and some imagination. Check it out on Youtube to see what I mean. Tiny work spaces involved in assembly are a problem so be careful with the sequence of assembly so you don't create a nightmare later. Save your sanding sawdust.LOCATING ADDITIONAL PARTS: The following list of items were woefully short with the original kit.....1) Glue. The two small bottles of PVA glue is nowhere close to enough 2) The quantity of larger size 12mm bricks were way too limited based on my experience. You will need a lot more but the supplemental bags for sale on Amazon (now currently unavailable) contain only about thirty of them. Also the smaller size is limited so you will have to cut , shape and sand them from the 10mm pieces 3) The amount of shingles was barely enough - good luck finding those if you need themTOOLS: If you are first time builder of this or other like models you will have to have the proper tools. Here is what I used: 1) A model cutting tool (kit actually) perfectly made for cutting ceramic bricks, ie, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GH6B3Z6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsYou will need straight and bent tweezers which are typically included in the set2) Small file set for working with models 3) a whole bunch of sanding boards 100 and 180 grit 4) a toothbrush for cleaning sanding boards 4) a set of dental tools for working in tight places5) An Exacto cutting tool with extra blades 6) sanding sticks for tight places Accessibilty to AEDES ARS is very iffy. Sometimes they/he (someone named Dani) will respond to questions sent to them but I found, in most cases, they don't understand what you are asking.....a bit of a merry-go-round. The questions weren't hard or unclear. What is interesting is that they show a complete listing of additional parts on the website under accessories but no apparent way to order them. See my earlier comment on them finally responding (sort of) as to how to order from their website list. I had asked for that information repeatedly only to find that they farm it out to some other business and then they insult you in the process. There is a youtube video showing the building process of the Bodiam Castle but it is missing a lot. I used it repeatedly to study issues not adequately covering in the instructions.
