Nice to have
It only took a few years but I finally got this installed into my greenhouse. It seems to be made of heavy duty construction and easy to use. Installing it by hand was a bit of a bear but very worth it. The only thing I suggest is to get a 90 degree attachment for the bottom when ordering this, unless you need the water pipe to join the bottom of this by coming straight up from underneath.I would buy this again.

Work Great
I have just replaced a 28 year old Merrill Hydrant with the exact same one. The old one worked great for many years but was getting rusty and the linkage was getting sloppy. I would highly recommend this product. Others have claimed their hydrant froze, that is because the rod needs to be adjusted, if the plunger does not shut off the water the stand pipe won't drain causing it to freeze. The adjustment should be checked occasionally

Quality product
I just got it installed and it is working as expected. The handle is stiff for operation, but I expect it to loosen up over time. It is a quality product.

Had to chase the threads
The 3/4 inch threads would not screw onto any of several standard tapered nipples. Fortunately I have a 3/4-14 tap and chased the threads and cut them a little deeper allowing the nipples to start to thread. Curiously, although I am replacing an identical Merrill C-1000 hydrant, this one tilts off to one side a little compared to the old one as if the hole or threads are a little crooked in one or both. You might ask, why not just rotate the pipe? Because it is old and rusty and if I twist it, it may start to leak or break.

Now we are good.
I initially rated this low because it was broken when I received it (damaged in shipping) but customer service (thanks J) replaced it immediately with no questions asked. The product is far superior to most in its class. Thank you.

Good quality.
Old one was probably 35 years old. Great quality and cheaper than a plumbing shop for same hydrant.
