The microscope is beautifully made. Very solid and quality all around. Views are superb! Love the zoom feature. Mine arrived missing the .5x and 2x adjusters but getting them sent by Amazon. Superb stereo microscope, and highly recommend this brand and model.

I hadn't expected to find a 'scope of this quality/specifications at this price. The first specimen I looked at was a dead house fly, which in my opinion is a great test of a stereo scope because you really get a feel for the depth of field and the zoom magnification. Frankly it exceeded my expectations. When I tried the .5x and 2x auxiliary objective lenses it was a different matter - the range of movement for focussing is too small to work with either of them, which is why I've given it 4 stars instead of 5. With the .5x lens you cannot move the objective lens far enough away from the specimen to get it into focus. There are two positions for the lens unit and the standard lenses use the lower position. For the .5x objective lens you'll have to remove the upper light unit then unbolt the lens unit and move it to the higher position. With the 2x lens you cannot move the objective lens close enough to the specimen to get it in focus, you'll have to mount the specimen a couple of centimetres above the stage. Not too much of an issue if you are using incident light but a bit of a pain if your specimen is on a slide and you are using transmitted light.
