HOFAS 5/5 🔥
I loved this. I’m obsessed. This series is amazing!“The friends they'd made were what mattered in the end. Not the enemies.Through love, all is possible.”It baffles me how SJM manages to mesh worlds within the MAAS Universe SOOOO perfectly and give us the most interesting tome -the size of this book alone is scary as hell but let me tell you, from page 1, I was hooked!I really enjoyed the change of worlds and POV’s from chapter to chapter. I feel like the story benefited so much from that because the timeline was set at a much faster pace (compared to the other previous books) and I wasn’t getting bored. The characters I know and love from HOEAB / HOSAB couldn’t have a better triumphant arc, and it honestly made me more invested in a particular character from ACOTAR.Bryce & Hunt’s character development is phenomenal! I love that we get to see the more “real” side of their relationship where they don’t just agree on everything.Although they feel a little more separated from the group as a whole in this book, I think it’s because their “love story” has been told in book 1 & 2- it’s kind of SJM’s way of weening us off.I love that we got to know more of Ruhn through his vulnerability, but…The star of this book (imo) is Lidia Cervos, who just broke my heart time and time again.“This is Daybright. Blast it to Hel, Irithys."Her character development + plot line are some of (if not) the BEST I’ve ever read. The complete 180 from a villain arc to carrying the whole book on her back is just incredible.I can’t wait for more… I can’t believe there’s not even a pub date or an announcement yet…I need another book in this series like I need air!

So, overall, I have enjoyed the series...
there are moments that give you chills, make you laugh and make you cry. This book included.I feel that any criticism I give this book is purely a reflection of Throne of Glass. Im sorry, I can't help it. Throne of Glass is a masterpiecel and Crecent City - while still good and I would totally recommend - just does not compare. There are moments in CC where you are hit with 'The Maas Effect' for sure, but otherwise, it feels like it was written by someone else.As I said, it's still a really great story and an enjoyable read 🙌 BUT I can see why it doesn't perhaps get the hype that other Maas books do.That Bryce, though... she's a queen for sure!! I only hope that one day I can perfect my own ability at making little jokey jokes when threatened with danger or in awkward situations 😆👌

House Of Flame And Shadow • Sarah J. Maas • Rating: 9️⃣/🔟
"The gods know what would happen if all us females were unsupervised. Absolute anarchy. Cities would crumble"In this book, Bryce finds herself in a completely unfamiliar world, far from everything, and everyone she loves. Determined to return home, she must navigate dangerous alliances, unearth hidden truths, and hold onto hope, even as darkness closes in. Meanwhile, Hunt is imprisoned once again, stripped of freedom just as the world begins to unravel. With war on the horizon and threats rising, Hunt must decide who he can trust, and how far he's willing to go for the people he loves 🥲👀The brilliance of this series continues with this book, and with a crossover to one of SJM's other series as a pivotal part of the book, what's not to love? 😅 The stakes reach a whole new level in this book, and we find out some shocking secrets that flip the entire story on it head! 🤯There is such a fantastic ensemble cast of characters in the series at this point, and some of the less important characters, like Ithan, Hypaxia and Jesiba, all come to fruition, and play massive roles in the story 😁 I think my absolute favourite character in this book is Daybright (don't want to give away her true identity) as she is just such a compelling character, and kicks so much arse 🤣🪬Book vibe🪬- Urban fantasy- Multiverse- Prison break- Rebellion- Shocking revelationsOverall, I feel that this book nicely rounds off what feels rather like a trilogy. I understand that SJM plans on writing more Crescent City books, but it wouldn't surprise me if it goes the way of ACOTAR and starts to focus on some different POVs, which could certainly be interesting 😁
