No regrets with this macbook
I had a 2014 Macbook Pro and although it still worked great was no longer getting updates. I also wanted to get a Mac that had the M processors but had decided that I wouldn't go with a big screen like last time. I wanted something relatively light. I also wasn't going to spend as much money as last time either. The Macbook Air M4 fit the bill perfectly. I'm using it now for this review. I bought it for $1,049 and I see it's cheaper now but I still have no regrets.Pros:1) This thing is fast! I had built my latest PC with the best components and I'm still finding myself docking this and using it instead2) All of the creative software just seems to work better on this Mac.3) This is the perfect size for portability. I was a little concerned that the screen might be too small given my eyesight but it wasn't a problem. Screen quality is good and I have no issues there.4) Battery life is very good. I'm usually not doing anything power-intensive when I'm just using it as a laptop but I can generally go about a day periodically using it and not have any issues.5) The keyboard is great - not too crowded and the backlighting is good.6) Finally, the base model has 16GB instead of 8GB. I don't know why Apple insisted that 8GB was enough in 2025 - memory is pretty cheap and 16GB is pretty much the minimal you need now a days.Cons1) This is true for all modern macbooks, but you have to absolutely get what you need when you buy it. It's not upgradeable. You can do some things like get a thuderbolt 4/5 ssd enclosure for storage but you have to nail down the amount of RAM you want. However, as I mentioned above the default RAM is 16 GB and that's good enough for most people.2) The magsafe connector is great but it does seem to come off a little too easily. It's a minor gripe at best.Overall just a great laptop - I'm very happy with it.

Phenomenal performance and battery life
I was not a believer in Apple ARM until I extensively used this Air to process big raw images in Photoshop, and other image processing apps, with the laptop connected via a USB C dock to a 4k monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer. No glitches, no heat, no fan noise, no observable throttling after a couple hours of use. GPU rendered tasks, like Adobe noise reduction, are not as fast as on my discrete desktop GPU but reasonably fast enough--there are image processing apps that are non-starters on X86 integrated graphics. I encourage doubters to research how the Apple ARM SOC and the software optimizes use of low latency, integrated ram shuffled between the CPU and GPU even while supporting 4k video output. Unfortunately the Air only runs macOS, I've always vastly preferred the Windows GUI, but I can live with that for how I will use it (some of us still need non-gaming Windows only software too). The same tier Pro model has more ports and active cooling but the same SOC--unless you plan to render video the active cooling hardly matters and, as noted, the measly two USB C style ports can handle a lot of throughput. Phenomenal battery life too. There is nothing in X86 that can match this performance and energy efficiency at any price point--this AIR model at the sale price is the greatest bargain in computing right now, something never ever written about anything Apple. My main complaint is that Apple is still using the too easily detached magnetic style power connector as on my 2014 Macbook Pro (which I still occasionally use).

Blazing Fast, Ultra Portable, and Surprisingly Cool
The 2025 MacBook Air with the M4 chip is easily the best balance of performance and portability I’ve used in a laptop. The Sky Blue finish looks sharp and modern, and the build quality feels as solid as you’d expect from Apple.Performance is the star here — apps launch instantly, multitasking with multiple tabs and programs is seamless, and the M4 chip handles AI-powered tasks effortlessly. I upgraded from an M2 MacBook Air, and the difference in speed and responsiveness is very noticeable. Despite all this power, the laptop stays cool and quiet, which makes a huge difference for long work sessions. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display is bright, crisp, and accurate for both work and streaming. The new 12MP camera with Center Stage makes video calls much more natural, and the improved microphone quality is a bonus. Battery life easily stretches through a full day of heavy use — about 14–15 hours for me.The only limitation is the base 256GB of storage, which might feel tight if you’re dealing with large files. But with cloud storage or external drives, it’s manageable. If you want a lightweight laptop that feels powerful enough to rival pro machines, this MacBook Air M4 is an incredible option.

This little piece of technology is awesome!!
I love this new 2025 MacBook Air! I have wanted a new one for years and after finally reviving and stretching out the lives of a few hand me down windows laptops, I decided I was done and it was time to make the plunge. I have so many hobbies that require a fast and portable laptop that I cannot wait to get started using this MacBook. I love this dark blue color that it comes in as well. There are only two slots for accessories so I ordered Thunderbolt dongle so I can attach multiple screens and other accessories to it and a protective cover and carrying case which I will write a review for as soon as I get it! This battery last quite a while even when it is in sleep mode or closed and I love that my Apple Watch can actually log in for me! So many other things that is so cool with this machine and it is hard to believe how thin and light it is! Wished I had done it sooner, but excited for getting the latest model. Plus the price I found it on Amazon was the best price I had seen during my research!
